You do get an easy win every year with Iowa State on the schedule.

Well it is an athletic league...sure they calculate academics...progress rates.....incomes and graduation rates with those confrences but they dont take away from the real name of the game in college athletics...which is making money and winning games.
but what benefit does Rutgers gain from leaving a better situation?im curious.

How could you possibly think that staying in the Big East is better for them than the academic and athletic shoulder-rubbing they would get from the Big Ten?

1. losing a chance at an easier road to a BCS/Championship.
2. losing all natural rivalks for sports outside of football.
3. playing teams thousands of miles away same situation with BC....its just plain stupid.
4. academically the Big East and Big 10 are on par...I mean Georgetown, Notre Dame, Pitt and UConn they are alll great academic institutions they are rubbing shoulder to shoulder with the best....

Re: Big Ten 12th Member?
Big Ten nets 3 times as much bowl money tie-in than the Big East does. Usually the Big Ten gets 2 teams in the BCS so the odds are actually better in the Big Ten. The supporting bowls are hands down better in the Big Ten. Look at the regular season, the Big Ten attendance is much, much better than that of the Big East.

1. Only as good as the teams you play each week.
2. They'd gain PSU in wrestling, and that's really the only decent wrestling program in the area anyways, isn't? Basketball, I see your point.
3. There would be divisions. No different than going to USF on occasion than going to Minnehaha.
4. Dude, ND's academics are not that great. Pitt's are not that great. Take a look at football recruiting as an example. Pitt takes a lot of kids that do not get accepted to other schools. Michigan and PSU both pulled Todd Thomas' offer when they saw his grades. Same deal w/ PSU and LeSean McCoy. AND PSU and Fitzgerald.
