This is the second time in Pitt's history they were ranked #1. This is the second time that they lost their first road game after being ranked #1. I think I can see what TAE is talking about.

What does "road games" have to do with "panic attacks"?

I do not know the exact number of turnovers by Pitt, but it was way too many, plus Providence made their free throws and were above their season avg for free throws makes and attempts.
Regardless, this is not college football. One, two, or three losses doesn't kill you like it does in football. This is a marathon season (30 some games), so I am not sure why everyone is getting so excited or depressed about their loss. Remember they already lost their number one ranking only to find themselves back in that position. Seldom does this happen in college football. I think too many of you have that college football/BSC mindset instead of college basketball and March Madness tourney time!! Its a long long season and no one remembers who all was number one throughout the season when it comes down to March and April. And besides we still have the conference championships the 2nd week of March.

Just having some fun. Pitt is a good team, I'm just trying to figure out why Dixon can't keep these kids from mishandling the hype they receive, which they earned to begin with.
Providence is also a good team, and they may be able to squeak into the tourney yet. My only question about Pitt losing to them is: does Providence have very high admissions standards? I seem to recall it being an expensive place to attend school. Are they that good that they can overcome all that adversity, or am I wrong here?
