WPIAL class A was weak this year, from what I've heard...The exceptions are two solid teams at the top of WPIAL A...If a district 5 team stays within 15, much less beats, Serra Catholic or Sewickley, I'll be a believer that District 5 wasn't same old-same old this year.

Any word on where the Shade/Serra Catholic game will be played at?

Sites will probably be announced tomorrow on the PIAA website. My best guess is Shade/Serra will be somewhere like IUP, Gateway, or Franklin Regional.

2nd round sites are to be neutral, as in close to equidistant from both schools.

Hey Titan, aren't you the same person that said Clairton was one of the best WPIAL teams in A this year? Tuseey won without 2 starters and their coach. Something doesn't match up! Are you talking out both ends of your body?

Any idea on how TM/Sew and Shade/SerraCath match up. Let's strip the teams of the D5/WPIAL designation and gets some thoughtful input.
I will say that I did not expect TM to win last night. The acting coach of TM needs to be commended for preparing those young athletes for this game. He was smiling from ear to ear when he left UPJ last night...and lots of folks smiled back.

I believe tussey plays kennedy catholic doc and nbc gets sew. I think one of the district 5 boys teams will win in the next round and I'm leaning toward tussey, since kennedy only put up 40 the other night I think some solid D might be enough to do the trick.Them winning is a testament to the entire tussey program(including bailey)seeing how he helped prepare them all season long too.I think the bench may be a little deeper for these private schools from the wpial and that may be a difference maker for the locals. If shade and nbc play team ball like they have been they may be able to keep it close if the other teams aren't quite as disciplined.Again I wouldn't count any of the locals out and say that they can't win as believing is half the battle. GOOD LUCK SHADE,NBC,and TUSSEY!
