I just cannot understand why the PIAA has scheduled a AAAA boys game at Central Cambria. I can understand a A girls game but the crowd for the State College game is likely to be quite large. I just can't accept that there are not some better options. And while I am at it district 6 and the PIAA should require Central Cambria to update the close n play sound system they have...I mean seriously half the time I can't tell if they are doing player introductions or ordering a Big Mac.

Agreed stilajacket...Why not State College/Lebo at DeGol Arena? Lebo travels very well, and they bring a lot of students, probably a few buses. If I recall, State doesn't travel as well, so the gym may be able to accommodate the crowd...I'd get there early just in case.
Local fans should go to Ebensburg to see this game. You'll get a chance to see something you rarely see in that area: lock down AAAA defensive basketball, rather than teh good ole' "lamp post" defense (ie-5 players standing around like lamp posts) that's played by so many teams nowadays.
Jamar Smack from SC is an excellent guard, and Lebo has a few good players too. They start a frosh, I believe. Former Pitt player Joey David is Lebos' coach.
Central Cambria? It's close to equidistant for both schools, but IUP or DeGol Arena would've been better venues. Who knows, maybe neither was available that evening and CCHS was the alternate pick. I recall that place holding maybe 1500-1600 at most.

There must be an issue with DeGol, either availability or $$$$. Heights-Beaver Falls and NC girls should have been there in first round. CC was packed to the rafters (and steaming like a sauna). Temperature might not be so bad for SC game though if it gets more seasonal outside.

I doubt it sydfinch, I have been to D6 playoff games in that place when there was a foot of snow on the ground, and the gym was still sweltering.sydfinch wrote:Temperature might not be so bad for SC game though if it gets more seasonal outside.
