First of all son, concentrate on your education...particularly Language Arts. And think before you write anything in the future.

Portage...2 kids below the AA line...are you more of a moron than I actually thought? Portage graduates 70-75 kids total! They are in the middle to lower end of Single A schools enrollment wise.

And please, don't even question the tradition of Portage baseball vs. your Mighty Trojans. Portage is a District contender year in and year out. Do you want me to pull out the Portage vs. Johnstown series record over the last 30 years too? Think not.

Johnstown or Coach Osborne must have really wronged you Portage alum. You make no bones about your distaste for them. Why bash a high school team and their coach like you do? What happened??? If I didn't know any better, it sounds like you are from McCort.

Portage Alum, I actually would like you to pull out the Portage vs. Johnstown series record over the last 30 years. Please include in your findings former players from Portage over the past 30 years who have gone on to play college baseball (Div 1, 2, 3, NAIA, JC), players who made an impact in the Johnstown Junior League/AAABA League, players who went on to coach baseball in high school or college(not coach son's tee ball team). I would have to believe Johnstown has produced more players at the next level. Your distain for Coach Osborne is obvious, but before you go on a chat room to blast a coach who has given more than 30 years of his life to the game of baseball, I ask you, what have you done to criticize him? Have you won a District 6 Championship? Inducted into the AAABA Hall of Fame? Coached numerous players who have gone on to play college or professional baseball? Gave players an opportunity to travel outside of Johnstown to experience baseball at a different level? If you can answer yes to any of these questions, congratulations. If not, I feel sorry that you have to criticize someone who is productive in their sport to feel better about yourself.

Ernie Peterman trumped Frank Zock's 75 mph meatballs...A member of my family hit a 3 run HR at Portage in Legion Ball off of FZock that is still going...

Just to put Portage's school size in perspective, according to the PIAA website, there are 174 schools in the single A classification for Baseball.

The largest has a male enrollment of 161.

Portage has a male enrollment of 121.

That places them 73rd out of 174 schools size-wise, or in the 58th percentile. This means that 42% of the schools are larger, and 57% are either the same size or smaller. They are not close to the A - AA boundary, but they are definitely above the median for the classification.
