Fields did have 14 this eve. I will agree they were cold, especially in the 2nd half. 21 and 26% respectively from 3 point land. But Fields drains one with under a minute when it counted! That is big time clutch.

But why isn't anyone giving credit to OK. St and Xavier. They are good teams and probably have played their best games of the year against Pitt.

Now that the sweet 16 jinx is off their back, look for Pitt to roll. 5 out of the last 8 years making it to the sweet 16 isnt too bad. Only two other teams have done it 6 times and Texas has done it 5 as well.

Fields was definitely clutch late in this one. He's going to have to do the same in the next game, too. If he goes out and only scores 5-10 points, I don't like Pitt's chances of beating Villanova. Blair was in foul trouble the whole time when they met up earlier this season. He finished the game with 7 points. Pitt's going to have to play their best game of the tournament to beat 'Nova. It should be a good one. Hopefully, it won't be as ugly as tonight's game.

If that was Xavier's best game of the season how in the world did they get a 4 seed? They shot 32%, they were 5 of 23 from behind the arc, and had only 4 steals. They were outworked to most every loose ball. Sorry dude but that is not a "best game of the year" performance.

Blair has stayed out of foul trouble and still Pitt could have easily lost all three games so far. I don't see Pitt winning it all because I don't even want to imagine this team right now with him off the floor for an extended period of the game. Congrats though getting to the Elite 8 and getting a PA match-up for the right to go to the Final 4.

Apbk - the 4 steals that Xavier had is right on par with their season avg. So I am not sure why u point that out as being poor. Plus holding Pitt to 17 points below their seaon avg is pretty good defense. Xavier is not as bad as u may think. Yes both teams missed a pile of shots and Xavier pushed Pitt around the entire 1st half.

Xavier is a very good basketball team, especially on the defensive end. What Pitt did to them defensively in the second half is impressive. Holding them to 18 second half points is incredible.

Everyone says Xavier shot poorly. No kidding! It's called defense. Almost every shot was contested.

Shocker do you really think that was the best game that Xavier played this year? Its not good defense when they missed wide open layups and jumpers.

If I was Jamie Dixon I would explain to Sam Young that a turnaround, fade away, 20+ feet from the basket, and early in the shot clock is not a good shot selection. I mean he air balled like 2 in a row. Or was that good defense by Xavier, too?

2 bad shots the entire game by Young.....not too bad (and yes they were 2 bad shots). But to point the finger at the entire game on 2 bad shots, come on now abpk. Even the best in the world make a couple bad decisions during the course of a game. Name me one that doesnt. What about all the good Young did??
