If you think what happens in 7 on 7 during the summer months will have anything to do with how teams play in September or October you're crazy. There are no rewards for winning 7 on 7, although some teams think so.

If the name seems familiar it's because his brother Jared was a stud fullback for FH a couple of years ago. With all the talent Portage returns and the little bit they add they should not lose a game in the Westpac
Just to add to this post, then once they play a Bellwood or McCort it will be like they hit a brick wall.

Bellwood-Antis is far from a Super-Power and their Post-District 6 Play-Off Accomplishments are embarassing.

Didn't say they were a super-power, but they are a better team then Portage IMO. And I didn't know knocking off Steelton in '06 was considered embarassing.

palerider, just for your information, Windber has not won the conference title since 2002. In the last 7 seasons 5 different teams have won the conference including CT, Berlin and Meyersdale.

The West Pac has some good teams every year for a small school league. It just does not have the depth due to small schools talent going in cycles. They can't go and recruit every year. And lets not forget that North Star should of played for a state title two years ago if not for a bad 4th quarter against Serra Catholic. Bishop McCort or Bellwood have not gone any farther than that North Star team. Meyersdale also played Clairton tough 3 years ago in state playoffs.

Played tough but still lost yea my point they still lost, and North Star in the title game that is just an ignorant comment there a weakpac team going against a WPIAL powerhouse. North Star got beat so stop beating that dead horse.
Speaking on the conference title issue Shade won it back in 1963 lets talk about the present are at least 3 years ago!

Excellent Points. Northstar 07 was a very talented Team and had the Best Passing Game I seen in District 5/6 in a long time. All you have to do is look at the History and the "Cycles are obvious".

Palerider I'm not sure where you are going with your points truth is North Star has been the closest area team of playing for a state title in recent years. If you want to talk about the past some of the best teams in the entire area have come from West-Pac schools - Windber has great tradition,Township has put several kids into D-1 schools,Shade had some great teams,Meyersdale had some great teams including Charlie Banks,Berlin had some excellent teams including 4 players making All-State from there 2004 team. The top two or three teams most years could hang with any other small schools in the state.
