Wrestlers with the best/worst Sportsmanship!!

recieving a forfiet is basically recieving respect or a compliment...... if u have to be disgruntled after that then u have problems....... hard work and stufff does pay off but when i recieved forfiets cus someone moved away from me ....then i took that is oh thanks u respect me and what not .....no need to shake ur head or udder crude remarks when u recieve a forfeit

I disagree totally, if you are forfeited to week in and week out when the other team weighs someone in you should be upset. If you are competitive, you WANT to wrestle. Compliment, sure, but good hard working kids want to wrestle.

That happened to Brandon Weyandt for a lot of matches last year. Weyandt was, in my opinion, one of the best wrestlers to ever grace Bedford High School, and he was really intimidating. I guess guys were too nervous to go up against him. He wasn't as high in the standings last year because he had so many forfeits (at least I think he wasn't as high...I'm not really sure how wrestling is ranked or anything, so don't hold me to that..)

The kids have nothing to do with running away from a person. Yes they have a little bit but not much. Its the coach that moves the person around to maybe win the match. A perfect example of that was the NBC vs Bedford match last year when Coach Clark moved Suter away from Weyandt to get the win and look at the outcome. NBC did win.

Well Weyandt placed 3rd in the state last year. I think thats good. (apparently you don't think so spirit)

Oh, quite the contrary actually, I thought he did excellent last year! He was my favorite guy to cheer for because he always wrestled so well, so it was always disappointing whenever he got a forfeit.

if a team forfeits against me i just take it as hell i just earned my team 6 pts..thats all i care for in dual meets..is getting my team 6 pts

The NB/BD match last year was full of energy and I'm willing to exuse any reactions/overreactions that occured during or after that match. Weyandt was obviously upset when NB bumped away from him. Rightfully so, he should have been, especially when he had a chance to wrestle another quality wrestler. But it was the right coaching move for NB. They couldn't risk losing the pts in those two weight classes. As far as the Huxta instance: I was actually standing amongst the crowd that was yelling at Huxta. As I tried to walk toward a NB wrestler to congratulate him, I was just pulled with the mob. But Bobby moved toward the crowd as well and words were exchange. Like I said though, I am willing to excuse any overreactions from anyone during that heated match.

BUt you have to admit, all things considered if those kids stay off the mat away from jawing at Bobby (Whose team just lost an emotional match) and just enjoy the hard fought victory with their friends, this does not happen.

Oh yeah, I totally agree. I also think that just as much emotion was flowing through them as was flowing through Bobby. They never should have done what they did and he shouldn't have reacted like he did. I'm sure if you would ask Bobby, he would say that he overreacted and with a clear head he wouldn't have reacted in that manner. But like I said before, Bobby Huxta is one kid that I respect more than any other. I can't say that I've never thrown my head gear, so I won't hold this one against him. In fact, mark me down for a donation of one win to both him and Dustin Swindell so they can be listed with the elite on the hundred wins list, because the both deserve it.
