I'm back from the game...

Congrats to the Buckeyes. They just stuck it to PSU today.

I felt the gameplan was vanilla, but it had to be. We couldn't get out of our own end and their DLine DOMINATED. They were able to drop 7 and rush with their front guys. They were blowing up traps, isos, passing plays, read runs, etc. Their OL and DL were dominant tonight. When that happens...you win.

PSU isn't a real good team, but they aren't terrible either. The teams with the big OL and DL's are killing them and just flat out handling them.

Don't think PSU just didn't try anything....they couldn't. OSU's defense dominated them guys.

Pitt fans will chime in, but it is best if we just ignore them and not reply. I just wanted to post my thoughts on things from today's game. We're going to be ranked behind Pitt and it will be deserved. They are playing well right now. The Big East and Big Ten both just aren't real great and neither is the ACC. Watching all the teams from top to bottom in these conferences right now... they just really aren't all that great. The best teams out of those three conferences combined might be Georgia Tech and Cincy.

And in another pre-game post I noted how OSU's D-Line would dominate the game!

Well, my hunch about the game was right, but I did not expect what I saw. PSU might have been the most overrated team that OSU has played in years.

Here is my brief list of PSU's overrated personnel:

1. Daryll Clark - I said that he has not performed well against good defenses. Saturday was the best example yet. Heisman candidate? He was not even the best QB on the field. Pryor thoroughly outplayed him. I heard someone on the radio this week saying that Pryor would never be as good as Clark. Well, he was on Saturday.

2. Derek Moye - I have been hearing about how he is the next great PSU WR. If he is so great, where was he all night? Chukwa and Torrence are good corners, but Moye was exposed as an average receiver who cannot get open against good coverage.

3. Jared Odrick - Now, Odrick is good, but the two best D-linemen on the field on Saturday were Hayward and Gibson.

4. Sean Lee - Did he even play? I was expecting a great performance and he was nowhere to be found. Now, Bowman is a good LB and he showed up on occasion, but Lee did not. The best LB's on the field were Brian Rolle and Ross Homan.

5. PSU's coaching staff - Tresselball worked to perfection on Saturday. JoePa was totally outcoached. For all of the negative attention that Tressel has been getting, he is a win over Iowa away from clinching a 5th straight Big 10 title.

I did not mention Evan Royster because I don't think his performance was really his fault.

I thought PSU's O-line was better. I guess not much.

I thought PSU's secondary was better. I guess not much.

Go Buckeyes!!!

OH IO!!
