You have to declare your playoff intentions after week 8. However, the intention was to already have 4 wins by week 8 and be playing week 9 for a possible 5th and winning season. BG had no business being in the playoff picture with three wins. Even if they would have won against BC they were not playing for a winning record in week 9.

The Blacklick Valley over Bellwood upset selection caused a stir but I did have a thought process by making this pick. I have watched both teams BV more than Bellwood. Blacklick has some very good backs. Worthington is as good as any in District 6A as is Julock. QB Manda is solid and he mixes it up to his receiving corp. They are solid on the offensive line with two tackles (#75, #76) who have to go 290 apiece. They seemed to have come together on the defensive side of the ball. They have only given up 37 points in the last four games and from the Tribune article 18 of those were scores on the second team defense.

Bellwood has McCaullay and Plummer who are terrific and they also have some huge linemen. The defense is stellar and I am sure they are well coached.

This is going to be a good one gentlemen.
