Dj94 ??????????? What kind of incoherent ramblings are these. Make sense, apples to apples comparison. If you want to compare the area privates to any sideling hill team I would gladly do it with you.

Re: Forbes Road vs Shade
CR's numbers are declining and will contnue even during the next round of classification & they have one of the largest school districts in the region per square mileage - they boarder 9 other school districts - also they had 16 boys on the varsity / jv roster (9th thru 12th grade) & 12 boys in jr high (7th & 8th) grade - they graduate 5 seniors & only have 2 juniors / 5 sophomores / 4 freshman / 6 8th graders / 6 7th graders. Hyndman had 15 on their roster with 5 seniors & 10 freshman I believe which is a very good class of ball players.
Re: Forbes Road vs Shade
usa track and field = you said CR belongs in the sideling hill because they havent won any championships. even though they are MUCH bigger than the rest of the league. You also do not feel the privates should be in the playoffs due to an unfair advantage. so if it is ok for CR to compete and not win championships then why isnt it ok for BG to compete in the playoffs even though their bball and football teams arent winning district championships? you are talking out of both ends of your mouth. Im not comparing apples and oranges. Just trying to figure out how you think CR is a good fit to a single A (and small double A school )league when they (CR) are a big AA school. I am sure you are a ridge runner alumni and dont think CR belongs in a conference with comparible enrollment numbers, ie LHAC. They proved they couldnt compete there so of course the sideling hill is a good fit.

Re: Forbes Road vs Shade
So dj94 you sound like a disgruntled private school supporter to me. Ridge has traditionally played the teams in the sideling hill since I can remember.Quite a long time.If you are saying about ridge playing in the LHAC you are only talking football as ridge never has been in the laurel highlands in any other sport.I know bedford county history my friend, you obviously don't. Did you happen to read the numbers that cr baseball posted? Not many kids are there. That was my whole point ridge is considered a wrestling school more than a basketball school/ie not as many go out for hoops! I still believe as do the majority of others on here that privates should be put inthere own playoff system or be forced to move up.Wanna talk about the BG girls program? How they sit in little single "A" and recruit the altoona /holidaysburg area. Now theres an advantage.I believe next year as I have stated Tussey,Everett,Ridge, and Northern Bedford will all be classified as AA.Take in to consideration that forbes ,fannet,SF,mcconnelsburg don't even offer wrestling and 100% of their kids go to hoops or nothing.I'd say it is close to even.If it was up to me we would bring back the BCL!As far as competing in the LHAC in sports don't be so high and mighty, there have been quite a few programs at ridge who can and would have prospered in the LHAC.
Re: Forbes Road vs Shade
If they prospered or would have, then they would still be competing in that conference. Congrats on knowing BCL sports. You rock!!! that is a great accomplishment. For knowing so much you "should" realize that CR is almost 3 times bigger than some of the sideling hill schools, regardless of wrestling. Nice try. You have to admit that it is kinda sad they cant even win their league even though they are much bigger than the rest. And I dont have to have a MBA in BCL history to see that!

Re: Forbes Road vs Shade
WE were never fully in the LHAC just in football! I don't think ridge demanded to be put in the shl.I have been outta school better than 25 years and I remember playing the same schools as we do nowadays. So ridge has a few big classes go through and now we should get the boot.So you go right ahead and stick up for the privates who have open enrollment. They also sit in the cities where they draw from how many schools? These precious schools you are comparing ridge with sit in SINGLE"A" and knock the claysburgs and hyndmans of the world out of the playoffs.Yeah thats an apples to apples comparison.( sarcasm)dj94 wrote:If they prospered or would have, then they would still be competing in that conference. When told to join in all sports - CR ran for the door! enough said!
bishop caroll isnt exactly in the city!
Good try. numbers do not lie. CR is 3 times or more bigger than any Sideling hill team. You guys need to be in this conference to think you are good. But remember you even said they havent won any league titles.
Sad!

Re: Forbes Road vs Shade
Apparently math isn't a strong point of yours either! Here are the enrollment numbers for the shl. Ridge 218,everett 180,tussey148,nbc138,mCconellsburg131,southern fulton109,fannett 86,hyndman 50.Ridge is three times bigger than one school hyndman! They are right in the middle of double AA as far as numbers go AA149-262 in bball!Just like I said if half the kids go out for wrestling at ridge that leaves a little over a hundred for hoops, close to the total number at the schools who only offer hoops and not wrestling. If you are gonna run your mouth know the facts first,I thought someone with a private school education would know that! Doesn't carroll draw from ebensburg? Thats what us ridge people call a city!dj94 wrote:When told to join in all sports - CR ran for the door! enough said!

One more thing Dj94 this was my contraversial statement to start this hoopla. My gosh what was I thinking?usatf oldguy wrote:Ridge actually doesn't get as many kids out as alot of the other sideling hill teams do.Wrestling is big there.I know alot of the fulton county schools don't have wrestling teams.I think that really evens alot of the size difference up.
