I think the Health Care Bill includes a provision that deals with the unfair competitive advantage Pennsylvania private schools have over public ones in sports.

I found it interesting that the diocesan representative was quoted as saying that catholic schools 'exist to bring students a better understanding of Jesus Christ'. If this is indeed their primary focus, what would be the objection to closing all athletic programs in catholic schools in order to focus on that stated goal? Those students who wish to participate in athletics can do so in their public district. They would fall under the co-op and home school programs already in place. In addition, church monies now going to athletics could be used for more 'religious' purposes.
