Kirk there's no apology necessary. I didnt even see the punt w/ 4:40 left because I turned it over to my second fav program, Stanford, crap the bed against Oregon. Not a good weekend for TAE so far.

Oh you missed out. It was classic Joepa today. Punt with 4:40 left down 14 on 4th and 4, but call a timeout from Iowa's 12 with 1 second left down 21.

No use listening to the post game press conference. I'll tell you what Joe will say

-"owa's a good team"
-"we got licked"
-"We didn't have the kids prepared the way we liked"
-"We had some things in we thought would work"
-"We're a young team"

I blame him because he's the head coach of this football team. If you're going to be a head coach, regardless of age you need to have a clue as to what's going on. This is coaching 101 right here, a pop warner coach would know he has a timeout and call it at that juncture. It's a shame.

Hey Dave, you don't get sarcasm very well do ya?
I got your sarcasm, I just wanted to dive deeper into the abyss. Ya dig?

This team may not be bowl eligible. I said it after the Temple game and I will say it again now. This team has no shot to beat Ohio State (obviously) and Michigan State. They do not have the offense to score with Michigan (I don't care how bad their defense is). Northwestern plays Penn State tough every year and are 5-0. Illinois held Ohio State's offense in check for 3 quarters, I predict another weekend without a TD next week. I really don't know if Penn State can even beat Minnesota or Indiana right now. I don't wanna hear that this team is young because if we have to put up with these same players for multiple years its gonna be another difficult stretch in Penn State history much like the early part of the decade.

My friends and I were talking at the bar and we can not think of one time this season that a defensive player had a big hit. It seems as though every tackle results in our defender being drug for 3 yards. For the first time I can remember, this team looks much weaker than their opponents. In the past they may have been slower but never have I seen a Penn State team this weak. I could find many people in middle school with bigger arms than Bolden. He has been at the program now for 7 months and has known he was playing D1 college football for several years and that is all the bigger he is. I can only imagine what he looked like a year ago. They have a bigger athletic QB that probably would have scored on that 4th and goal standing on the sidelines. Once they gave Bolden this job they completely wrote off Newsome and even McGloin for as far as that goes. I'm not saying they should be getting more snaps than Bolden but make the opponent prepare for something other than a true freshmen that they know is going to have a watered-down offense. They have a ton of talent standing on the sideline not being utilized.

I'm pretty sure I heard the entire Iowa defense yelling "screen" every time Green entered the game.

Army put up 35 on Temple this weekend. I don't even want to get into the argument who is better between Pitt and Penn State because both teams are garbage. It's like comparing who's better between the Raiders and Lions.

And people wonder why Penn State has an alcohol problem.

The first Iowa run of the game set ythe tone...The RB was hit by a convoy of PSU defenders at the LOS and he and the Iowa OL surged for forward for 8 yards. Iowa is big and slow, and they manhandled Penn State in every physical aspect of the game.

Bolden showed his true colors tonight. He is what he is, and PSU will get 4 years of what they saw tonight from Bolden, with an occasional ray of hope which will create some delusions and false sense of security among the NitWIt Nation when he lights it up against Youngstown State or Indiana State. We all know that JayPa has no chance of developing Bolden, he'll regress. This is as good as it will get with Bolden.

Penn Stae's running game is awful, both the OL and RBs...PSU's tackles are as bad as bad can be...and to think that Evan Royster was considering leaving early for the NFL draft last season. He'd be 4th on Pitt's depth chart at RB, and probably playing for CalU of PA by now if he started his career at Pitt.

I know you don't want to admit this, NitWits but Pitt is arguably the better team this year, which would be the same as saying they're the shiniest turd in the pot. Please note that I in no way bought into the pre-season hype that came with Pitt this season.

Ok. WPIAL, Pitt is better than Penn State this year. Now go get a tissue and clean up your underwear.

Since you seem more concerned with being better than Penn State than the fact your favorite team had to have an 80 yard 4th quarter run to beat FIU.

Ya I'd fully expect an objective Pitt fan to not even want to mention what team is better right now. When your team is in a dogfight at home with an 0-3 FIU team I'd probably just let it ride for a week and see if they can compete against Notre Dame. Both teams stink right now. The best thing to happen to Pitt fans is not playing Penn State. They have lost nearly 80% of the time since Paterno has been the coach, but now they can claim they'd win 100% of the matchups that don't happen.

As for Bolden, you should probably try looking at the kid without Your Pitt sunglasses on. You're probably the same guy that will be touting Ray Graham for the Heisman because he demolished FIU on the ground. The fact with Bolden is this. He's been on campus 3 months and has already showed me more in big games than Clark has. Iowa fans have been on Penn State's message board saying how impressed they are with the kid and what a future he has. He is my last worry with the team. If he had an OLINE that could open up a hole of pass block people might not be teeing off on him all game. Most of his passes are hurries yet he still stays poised. You can have Sunseri and Bostick. I'm pretty content from what i see from Bolden.
