D6 AA PLAYOFFS
Re: D6 AA PLAYOFFS
Not that it probably makes much of a difference, I think CR actually has 880 after week 8. CR picked up 110 points (80+30) from win over Meyersdale, and 30 points for wins by Windber, CT, and Portage for a total of 140 points in week 8. They were at 740 points after week 7.
Not sure how good Allegany is. They have played an array of different teams including Red Lion in Delaware which starts an 8th grade QB, (6'2', 160 lbs) that has verbally committed to USC.
You can throw all records out when Bedford and Ridge meet.

Re: D6 AA PLAYOFFS
Tyrone at 1160 points, will gain 220 points from beating Penns Valley and Juniata over the next two weeks.
Forest Hills at 1030 points, will gain 330 points from beating Bishop McCort and Johnstown.
Tyrone has a 20 point lead at that point heading into the rest of the power points.
---
Tyrone will gain the following points for sure:
- 10 more from Bellwood (as they'll have most likely have a bye in week 10).
- 10 more from Lewistown/Juniata winner
- 10 more from Lewistown/Philipsburg winner
- 10 more from Bald Eagle/Bellefonte winner
- 10 more from Huntingdon/Philipsburg winner
- 10 more from Bald Eagle/Central winner
TOTAL: 1440 Points
Tyrone could might get points from the following:
- 10 more points from a Central Mountain win over Indian Valley
- 10 more points from a Central Mountain win over Jersey Shore
POTENTIALLY: 1440, 1450 or 1460 points
Forest Hills will gain the following points for sure:
- 10 more points from Bedford/Penn Cambria winner
- 10 more points from Central Cambria/Bishop Guilfoyle winner
- 10 more points from Central Cambria/Richland winner
- 10 more points from Bishop Carroll (bye in week 10)
- 10 more points from Cambria Heights/Westmont winner
- 10 more points from Johnstown/Central Cambria winner
- 10 more points from Penn Cambria/Westmont winner
- 10 more points from Johnstown
TOTAL: 1440 points
Forest Hills might also get points for the following:
- 10 more points from a Cambria Heights win over Somerset
- 10 more points from a Penn Cambria win over Beford
- 10 more points from a Bishop McCort first round playoff win
POTENTIALLY: 1440, 1450, 1460 or 1470 points
----
Honestly, Forest Hills will probably finish with more points if they beat Johnstown, as Penn Cambria over Bedford is probably given. A McCort playoff win is also probably a pretty good possibility.
1. Forest Hills
2. Tyrone
3. Chestnut Ridge
4. Ligonier Valley
5. Penn Cambria
6. Huntingdon or Central (with 2 more wins)
7. Huntingdon or Central (with 1 more win)
8. Central Cambria/Richland winner

Re: D6 AA PLAYOFFS
no points are given for playoff wins, so they will get none from McCort week ten.
ah, it doesn't matter, to be the champ you gotta win the games, we'll just have to win the tough ones first.

Re: D6 AA PLAYOFFS
Power points are given to AA, AAA, and AAAA teams who beat A teams for the first week of the Class A playoffs (or any Week 10 game a Class A team plays). So all the AA teams who beat A teams during the regular season should root for those A teams to win their first playoff game.
The irony is that if a AA team beat an A team that gets a bye in the first week (Bellwood Antis, probably Bishop Carroll, and maybe even Homer Center and Portage), that AA team will get no Week 10 power points from those good A teams they beat. So this will probably happen to Tyrone (BA) and Forest Hills (BC) and maybe happen to Chestnut Ridge (Po) and Ligonier Valley (HC).

Re: D6 AA PLAYOFFS
A very interesting and ironic post Red n Black. Please also explain to me what would have to happen for Derry to make the WPIAL playoffs if you have a chance, the G Tribune-Review said that they keep thier playoffs hope alive

Derry is 2-6 and have to travel to Hollidaysburg this week. I think Ligonier's 10th game is safe. This team is out.

Re: D6 AA PLAYOFFS
Derry and Hollidaysburg play this coming Friday at Hollidaysburg. The winner is in the WPIAL playoffs as the 4th place team in the Class AAA Keystone Conference. The loser is out of the playoffs. If Derry wins, both teams would both finish with 3 - 4 conference records but Derry would get in based on head-to-head over Hollidaysburg. Derry had to beat Uniontown last Friday for a second conference victory to keep their hopes alive and they did it. Ringgold has clinched #1 in that conference and Franklin Regional and Greensburg Salem
will play this coming week. The winner gets #2 and the loser gets #3. Hollidaysburg is favored over Derry but I think Derry is capable of winning if it gets some breaks.
I don't know what happens to LV's Week 10 game if Derry does win and makes the WPIAL playoffs. Certainly LV has tried to schedule a game before (Berlin) and during the season (Derry). If Derry is unavailable and LV can't find anybody else, I think the right thing to do is allow LV to average its points over nine games.
Also, a better procedure for the Week 10 power points over Class A teams you have beaten would be to give the 10 power points to any team that beats a Class A team that gets a bye. Those 10 power points could end up making a difference when it comes to Class AA seeding.

Re: D6 AA PLAYOFFS
I predict LV will host Huntingdon in a 4-5 matchup.
