Are you serious? Didn't you just read Hayes' quote from today's Mirror. When a head coach says, "There was a mistake made there at a critical point in the game", it sure sounds to me like BA's coach was letting his feelings be known about the bad call. Again, this was a MENTAL mistake on the part of the officials, not a physical mistake, like not visually seeing a play and making a guess as to what happened. Of course, what's the big deal. After all, Ken Salem said the officials got it right.

Moldo your hate for McCort increases your stupidity. Salem said the refs got it right about the grounding penalty. He never commented on the loss of down. That happened before the grounding question. Most people think the grounding call was the issue. It was the poor communication of the refs and the stick crew. That resulted in the loss of down before the grounding call.
Sportfan1000 you should get off McCort. The people that hate McCort are the same ones that put JHS down for playing down every week against A and AA SCHOOLS. Jhs is allowed in the LHAC when they don't win but as soon as they get good someone wants to take that away. Open your eyes!

Yeah Moldo, Just because Bishop Salem said they got it right, it HAS to be true. Two college games today with the same situation. 1st down and intentional grounding called. 5 yards from from the spot and loss of down. In BOTH cases, SECOND DOWN!!!! B-A got hosed. Would it have changed the outcome? We'll never know. Maybe, maybe not, but please don't defend the Archbishop of football. That might just be the most arrogant comment I have ever heard from a HS football coach. If the call were reversed, and it went against Bishop Salem, I'm sure his position wouldn't be the same. As it stands, McRecruit moves on (and yeah, they do; and everyone outside of the PIAA suits knows it), and B-A is prepping for next year. What a shame.

Moldo, I need to apologize. You seem to have some sense, and maybe all comments should be directed to VMAN and his Wambulance references. The officials get it right and B-A does score, VMAN would need a ride in the WAMBULANCE!!!. Guess the recruiting budget needs to be increased, ehh, VMAN?!!! Games gettting too close for McRecruit?

lhacsportsfan: YOU are wrong about Salem's comment. Go back a read the 3 quotes I just gave from the Altoona Mirror. They came in this order: Scialabba gave his mea culpa first. Then came Hayes' quote about "There was a mistake made there in a critical point in the game". The third qoute was then Salem's. And right before Salem's quote was given, THIS sentence appeared: BISHOP McCORT COACH KEN SALEM FELT THE OFFICIALS GOT THE CALL RIGHT. The was NEVER any discussion that the ball was intentionally grounded. NEVER!!!! The discrepancy concerned the carrying out of the penalty. Salem indeed was convinced that the officials got the call right. Maybe by saying that to the reporter, KS could sleep a little better last night. Maybe men of 'integrity" don't have a conscience. I mean, why didn't he just say he didn't see it, or understand the call and penalty. Plead ignorance at least. But to say the refs got it right is absurd.
