I am no Ohio St fan but some of these kids who sold items might of needed the money??? I don't think some of these kids come from the best homes and there might be some legit to the fact that they needed some spending money. But lets face it, when you have to monitor 100 student athletes things are going to happen. Also, I am sure there are questionable things going on across the nation at all universities that are borderline infractions.

Really? Kids at major D1 schools don't pay for anything. As far as the infractions, the 26 players who got tatoos were the tip of the iceberg, the coach lying and covering up brought the dogs, and the 51 players driving nice cars from the same dealer who happens to be a booster and have 5o yd line season tix is the dirt on top of the grave....yes there are infractions everywhere, but this is MUCH more than minor infractions!! Actually the car dealer doesn't have season tix, word on the report I heard was the tix he used were players (family tix), which makes it worse. My question is, 26 kids did this, 51 did that, is there anyone on their roster who didn't receive any benefits or do anything wrong?

Came out today Pryor has been driving all his new cars with a suspended license, like salt into the open wound.

I just finished up college. I am now paying off $80000 worth of student loan debt which will result in about $500 a month payments for the next 30 years. This is all while I worked at least 2 jobs the entire way through school and had a paid internship. I don't want to hear **** about these kids needing money. Yes, college football requires a large amount of work but they also get tutors, mentors, and a lot other help that the average student doesn't. Would I trade my situation for theirs, dang right I would.

I agree with you this is a major violation. I am sure they are going to pay dearly for this. I just can't understand why Coach Tressel didn't report this or wasn't on top of this. He has known for the last two years and didn't do anything. What was he thinking? Why wasn't he on top of this?

This isn't the first time Tressel has been in hot water with the NCAA, its natural for him not to report it.

Anyway, if I was the NCAA this is my punishment. Pryor suspended for the season, Tressel ban from coaching at any level ever again, once you find out for how many years this went on for strip them of every victory and accolade they won during those years, Buckeyes get a 5 year ban on bowls, and for next 5 years get only 15 scholarships over the next 5 years. I know hacking off 10 scholarships may seem harsh, but need to punish them and make an example of them to show the NCAA won't back down from anyone even the top dogs.

What should the institutional penalty from the NCAA be for a major college football program that knowingly harbored a pedophile on the coaching staff and allowed him to retire with dignity?
A little different than trading some gear for tatoos and getting a deal on a few cars, don't you think?
