It's funny to me that the school-to-school animosity is between a bunch of old farts. The kids from FH and Jtown were sitting together last Saturday at the LHAC championships.

This may be a stretch, but does anyone consider Bishop McCort coach, Pat Hollern to be a candidate for coach of the year. Over the past few years Bishop McCort has been in not only the State playoffs, but also the D-6 Championship. Many people over look McCort this year due to their regular season record, when in reality McCort may have had one of the toughest schedules around the conference. They have played three or four WIPIAL teams this season, while winning one and losing by something like a combined 15 points over the rest of the games. McCort has beat every team in the LHAC at least once except Johnstown, but lets get real, with talent like Johnstown.. how could u lose several games? I am not saying he might not deserve it, i am just putting something to be considered

I just looked at mccorts schedule and I only see one wpial school on their schedule. Regardless, Pat Hollern always does a nice job and is definitely one of the better coaches in the area.

sportsfan amd mustard: You can tell you guys are young. Times have changed. It's kum-bay-ya nowadays. What's the sense of a rivalry then? Do you think Conemaugh Township kids would be rooting for Windber if they were going for some kind of championship, just because they are both from District 5? Should Steeler fans root for the Ravens just because they are members of the same NFL division? Should Johnstown fans be happy if Altoona wins some kind of state championship?

I'm several decades out of high school, and as an adult, I know better than to taunt high school kids at games, or go on a public message board and belittle high school kids. I can also appreciate the talents, dedication, and hard work put in by kids at all schools. So yeah I have no problem rooting for local kids doing well, because they are kids, and I'm an adult. If you old guys want to maintain your rivalries, go ahead, I think it's funny.

The pros are a different story. I'm filled with hate for the Ravens.
