For the draft I'm hoping to see them take the C from Florida, name escapes my mind at the moment, and Hanson is a kid they're gonna move to second. As for SS in the system, I'm still high on d'Arnaud and would like to see Mercer get shot.

Mike Zunino is the Catcher. The last attempt at drafting a college Catcher has fallen flat in the Pirates face, could scare them off.

Drew Maggi is the Bradenten Marauders SS in High A. He's having a good season to date, and comes from a strong college program in Arizona State. Another name to hold on to.

Well with Sanchez his career has cruising right along until the injuries began, just never been the same since.

At this point the Pirates strengths in the whole organization top to bottom.
Starting Pitching and Outfield.
Weaknesses
Middle Infield,Corner Infield, and Catching.

Thats basically it.
I'd like to think Alex Dickerson may be a good First Basemen down the line for Pittsburgh. He had a very good bat, but played in the weak Big Ten for Baseball.

Dickerson and Curry are two guys at first I like, but this team can win the NL Central next year if all goes well with Marte, Cutch, Tabby, Walker, and Pedro and the pitching. But they'd also need to add a 1st baseman and both of them are still at least 2 years away.

I think Zunino will go before they pick but with those two picks they can get Marreo, Correa, or in the "sandwich" round a guy like Diekroger from Stanford

Matt Curry might be a Steve Pearce clone. Undersized First Basemen from a top College program. I think Curry has some more power though.

Hopefully he doesn't end up AAAA player like Steve did.

While what happened to Pedro. Back to his old self again since he moved into the cleanup spot he is 2 for 25 with 11 k that's a. 080 .average. Still say if management would put the 8 best position players on the field every night they would over .500 right now

Well just who are the 8 best position players on the 40 man roster?
1. McCutchen, no doubt. Dude is one of the best in the league.
2. Walker. He is the Second Basemen and is having a desent season.
3. Tabata. One of the few guys actually getting paid, he's been really hot lately.
5. Alvarez. best power threat on the team, leads teams in RBI's streaky, but talented.
5. Jones. Jones is a platoon guy that you know what you will get. He provides one of the only power threats on the team.
6. McGehee-giving little production as of now.
7. Starling Marte-totally unproven, and people are praying he is as good as everyone hopes he is.
8. Alex Presley-streaky guy that plays his **** off. Just basically a AAA talent that sticks in the bigs cause of his hustle.
9. Josh Harrison-JHay hustles and plays hard, at least deserves a week or two as the starter and see what what happens.
10. Matt Hague-never really got a chance, but isn't exactly tearing up AAA.
11. Nate McLouth-former All Star, that is just pitiful this season.
12. Michael McKenry-He is a backup Catcher that happens to be better than the starter.
13. Yamaico Navarro-versatile, but primarily a AAA starter/MLB 25th man.
14. Chase d'Arnaud-Awful defensive player, and a mediocre hitter. Just started playing a few weeks back due to injury.
15. Clint Barmes-notoriously slow starter, he's not doing well and the primary cause of why everyone is upset with the offense.
16. Gorkys Hernandez-strong defensive 24 year old, has no pop. Can barely hit a Double.
17. Jordy Mercer-25 year old prospect. Coming off a .255 season, and doing OK this season.
18. Rod Barajas-He sucks, but the Pirates have 0 Catching depth in the organization.

So based off of my rankings, my lineup wpuld be.
1. Tabata LF
2. Marte RF
3. McCutchen CF
4. Alvarez 3B
5. Walker 2B
6. Jones/McGehee 1B
7. Harrison SS
8. McKenry C

So basically you trade a lifetime backup in McKenry for a wahsed up Barajas. A very limited Harrison for a struggling Barmes and potentially rushing your best AAA prospect in favor of Alex Presley.

Sorry to say, as a fan....just have to ride out the bad offense UNLESS they make a trade. But internally, this is the bets they have for the most part. Sad as it is.
