I realize this may be asking a little much, but if someone who has the paper with sam's article and the father's article, could you please retype them both and post them on here. I haven't got to read it yet and really feel in the dark about all this. I would really appreciate it if someone could take the time to do that...thanks

I DIDN'T READ SAM'S ARTICLE NOR THE PRIEST'S REPLY BUT FROM WHAT I READ HERE I WILL SAY GOOD JOB SAM!! I TOO KNOW SAM PERSONALLY AND I KNOW WHAT HE FEELS ON THIS ISSUE. AS FOR A PRIEST TO CALL SOMEONE A BIGOT WITHOUT MEETING THAT PERSON THAT DOES SAY A LOT ABOUT THE PRIEST AND HIS RELIGION!! AS FOR IEATHAM, ALL THE PUBLIC SCHOOLS ARE ASKING FOR IS AN EVEN PLAYING FIELD AND WE WILL COMPETE WITH ANYBODY. TAKE WILLIAMSBURG GIRL'S BB TEAMS AND WINDBER FB TEAMS FOR AN EXAMPLE. WHEN THOSE TEAMS PLAY THEY ARE PLAYING WITH KIDS THAT LIVE IN THAT DISTRICT AND IF THEY PLAY OTHER SCHOOLS THEIR OWN SIZE USING KIDS THAT GREW UP IN THE SAME SCHOOL DISTRICT THEY ARE NOW NOW PLAYING IN, I GUARANTEE YOU THAT THOSE TEAMS IN THE PAST WOULD COMPETE WITH ANY PUBLIC SCHOOL AND BEAT THEM. THEY SHOULD NOT HAVE TO COMPETE WITH THE CATHOLIC ALL-STAR TEAMS!!
IN COLLEGE THAT IS WHY THEY HAVE DDDIFFERENT CLASSESIN THEIR SPORTS SO THE PLAYING FIELDS ARE EVEN. THAT'S ALL THE PUBLIC SCHOOLS WANT!! IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK FOR??

Why did I transfer from a public to a private school? Well I transfered most of all for my school work. At the school I am at right now I have study hall for 2 hours a night to do my work. That way I can't slack off and get by like in a public school. I came for a better education and so I can get into college. Sports wasn't really the reason I transfered but it is also better here for athletics because we play unbelievable competition and I can get recruited easier. So tell me why would I stay at a public school?
The winner ain't always the one with the fastest car....it's the one who refuses to lose!

Well, I don't exactly buy your reasoning about a better education. You can get as good of an education as you want at a public school. However, I also believe you can get as poor an education as you want in a public school. If you or your parents weren't able to discipline you enough at Bedford, your choice makes sense to me. You will find discipline where you are now from my understanding.
But I can't help but feel your choice was mostly motivated by sports. Guess that's just the skeptical nature of people. And it doesn't really matter to me if it was. People need to make the choices in life that they think will help make them successful, and I think that's what you did. Good luck and I hope it all works out for the best for you.
