My apologies... I just happened to notice that a large topic was no longer on the list. Ironically, I don't even know what it was about. Judging from the pointed responses, I guess now is the wrong time to be asking questions.

I'll tell you what's funny. Things were rolling along until a former McCort football player posted on here, BEGGING the administration to lock the topic. And, of course, it was in the name of the victims. So they complied to his wishes.

Is Salem still helping recruit cheerleaders to McCort?

See We Support Ken Salem Facebook page for justification for my asking this question.

I wouldnt of had a problem if they just locked it and posted what Coach posted earlier in this thread as the last post. Completely deleting it isnt cool in my opinion, but it's you guys website and I'm just a guest. I been around a lot of forums over the past decade and I just think completely deleting threads is a bad policy.

Now you got 23 replies and counting in this thread, if the "McCort" thread was just locked and still readable I think there wouldnt be such a reaction in this thread.

I never posted in the other thread, dont really care about Bishop McCort, I hope the victims are OK but other than that, I dont care, I only spoke in this thread because I noticed the censorship.

i agree with most of the people about the ban. My question is this, If this is banned then the bashing of PSU should also be stopped. That situation has victims in it also. People are allowed to bash Joe and others on here, but we can't ask the same questions about a local situation. Seems unfair to me. The same people who have bashed PSU are now covering up the McCort problem, Seems hypocritical to me. Also on the Catholic bashing, you will NEVER hear me bash the faith, You will ALWAYS here me criticize using the faith to circumvent the fairness of competition against the public schools. Notice I didn't say circumvent the rules because I know the rules are in place to allow not only the parochial schools to circumvent the fairness of competition, but the other non-parochial private schools as well. That is why most people dislike the local Catholic schools, it does NOT have anything to do with religion!!

I'm not covering up the McCort problem, if you are referring to me (which most are) The website's administrator doesn't want it discussed on his site. You can freely e-mail me and private message me to get my opinion. And you can tell me what you think of the whole situation, but again, the open board won't be the place for it. This thread will be locked or deleted soon.

It has nothing to do with Catholicism or Penn State, I can assure you. It has everything to do with what Coach and I said for our reasoning.

IMHO that may very well signal the end of the usefulness of this forum. If there cannot be an open, uncensored expression and exchange of ideas or even someone just asking a question, there is no use posting. If someone is outright, over-the-top inappropriate, then they should be banned and their posts removed, but to take sides is just not fair. Deal with the individuals.

Again, just my opinion.

Listen people. If a victim's family/friend contacted me and asked for this to be removed I feel I have to do that regardless of what you think. If someone says something that could be disruptive to a court case I'm also not real comfortable with that. I don't really want to be contacted by anyone involved with a court system asking who "user" is and what "user's" contact info is. Being local and being contacted the way I was makes this different than Penn State. I apologize if you don't see it the way I do.

Simply go to Blogspot or Blogger, make a post there, and link to your post. I really don't think this is the place for some of the discussion and insinuating that was going on. Was the topic a major problem? No. Not yet. Was it a major risk of sorts? I think so. That stuff scares me to tell the truth. Hey, it drives traffic to the site. I should love it....but it just was something I thought could get way out of control in a hurry.

Thanks.

The problem with that is too many people will go overboard and over the top. The topic essentially turns to crap no matter what way it gets there. If we thought people could be open minded about it, it wouldn't be an issue. But let's be real, most people dislike McCort on here, some flat out hate it. So there is no reason to leave a topic like there open. It doesn't hold much promise for a reasonable discussion. Plus with the legal risks as Coach mentioned its not worth it for anyone. You have to understand why it's being done.
