Leechburg to D6/Heritage?
Re: Leechburg to D6/Heritage?
Both these schools will have teams. With 9th graders playing varsity you only need 5 kids to come out from each class. No, they might not be very good, but they will have teams.

Does that mean that to solve football open date Chestnut Ridge to the WestPAC?
Re: Leechburg to D6/Heritage?
The WestPac has....errr probably has, a total number of the smallest enrollment schools in the PIAA. With some of their schools barely able to keep their football teams, it would be very surprising to see the WestPac admit a AA size school such as Chestnut Ridge. That would create the same irritating situation that is currently happening in the Heritage with Ligonier Valley. Too many Heritage Conference schools are complaining that Ligonier Valley has too big of an advantage because of their larger number of students. Same complaining issues would happen in the WestPac if Chestnut Ridge would join them.Sideling Hill Fan wrote:Does that mean that to solve football open date Chestnut Ridge to the WestPAC?
Concerning Chestnut Ridge's future, I predict that Chestnut Ridge will someday join the LHAC when the LHAC needs another school. There's a few class A size schools in the LHAC that are predicted to fold, co-op or merge. For any one of those schools the change is coming, probably in a couple of years.

Re: Leechburg to D6/Heritage?
Its not fair to say double their size. If you look at it Marion Center has more kids that go to their actual school than ligonier does and ligonier only has a few more kids enrolled at their school than blairsville. Where Ligonier gets thier kids that set them over the class AA limit is through cyber schools yes those kids do have the right to play football at ligonier but there isnt a single cyber schooled kid on the team at ligonier valley but ligonier has one of the biggest "cyber school" enrolments around. So if you go by just the number of kids that attend Ligonier valley high school then they are far from double the size of the schools they play against, but with all that said i do believe they should've made the move to the LHAC when they had the chance.bigben7 wrote:Rich don't tell me how "potent" Ligonier is. It's a lot easier when you are double the size of most of the teams you play. They talked all that garbage 2 years ago about how they out grew the Heritage and were going to the LH. Then went to Richland and got their asses handed to them. Then they came crawling back with their tails between their legs. GUTLESS
Re: Leechburg to D6/Heritage?
Sorry man, but I never said Ligonier Valley is double the size.
I'm not taking any side, I'm just pointing out that there are Heritage schools that don't want Ligonier Valley in their conference because they feel that Ligonier Valley is a AA football (186-298 male students) school. My major point was that if Chestnut Ridge applies for membership in the WestPac, Chesnut Ridge will receive that same criticism because they also fall within AA football paramenters.

All the schools have cyber/home school boys. Ligonier might have more than others but don't say it's a disadvantage for them.

Re: Leechburg to D6/Heritage?
Purely speculation on west pac football schools. An addition of CR would give them a AA school worth more points than A schools. Would help both D5 A and D6 A schools in playoff seedings. If I'm Portage or Windber having a AA school on the schedule and beating them could be the difference between hosting a playoff game or having to travel to play
