Use em!!! Heck in 79 tekulve had more innings than 2 starters. Game 7 in 79 alone ya had bibby, Donny Robinson , and grant Jackson just to get through 7 innings teke went the last 5 outs. Hurdle left AJ in there to load the bases and walk in runs after he already gave up 3 to start the inning... COY he ain't!!
Are you really saying if Gerrit Cole starts the game today with 1 hit ball thru three innings you pull him and put a reliever in because he has seen everyone once? I am trying to wrap my head around that mess.
No not the way Cole was going, that is an exception to rule, however coming out when he did today was perfect actually stayed under 90 pitches. With day off , 2 in the burgh and travel back to St. Louis , he can go in game 5 . Only problem is hurdle won't tell AJ he's sitting in game 5 if its necessary.

Cole absolutely should start Game 5, but I have serious doubts about Hurdle having the balls to tell A.J. he's not starting.

I don't know. I have a feeling AJ knows St. Louis has his number in Busch Stadium. He may suggesting running Cole out there and being an option out of the pen.

I'm really glad Beltran wasn't due up in the 9th. He's so clutch, one of the best postseason players I've ever seen. Let's hope Charlie can keep the guys in front of him off base today!

There are very few reasons I why Beltran should see a pitch within 6 inches of the strike zone today...

Cole announced as game 5 starter. AJ Burnett unavailable for comment.

The pitch Cutch popped out on to end the game looked like the type of pitch he generally hits into the right field gap or over the wall. Just got under it a little bit.

I expect Wednesday's game to be very similar to today. Pirates will struggle for baserunners and hits. It will be up to Cole to match Wainwright. They need to get to Wainright early. Once he settles in he is tough.

Season over. The Pirates brought so many of us hope , for the future of baseball in Pittsburgh. Now it's on to 4 months of off-season talk, who's going to be back next year, etc. Thank you 2013 Pirates. :ymapplause:

Disappointing end to the season last night.... However, this year was turning point for the Pirates, a couple of changes to the roster for next year and I truely believe they can win it all. Got a taste of the postseason this year, now lets win it all next year. Lets go BUCS
