Point of clarification: I said "questionable". I didn't mean to imply it was bad, just that it can always be better.

The backup goalie posted a shutout in his last start...he is coming around.

One game against a weak team doesn't make a confident backup goalie. It's like a blind squirrel in the woods finding a nut. Yeah, sooner or later, he finds one.

All I'm saying is, he looks a lot better than in his first few starts

After last night's no-show, I think the previously mentioned "questionable" defense reared its ugly head.

The Pens as a whole laid an egg last night, not just the defense. Maybe next time they pitch a shutout we can say they have a great defense... Sure the entire team looked awful but in the grand scheme of things it is 1 outta 82 games.

I hope Neal and BB are as close to coming back as it appears. Malkin is a great talent but he is in a major funk right now and needs those two back.
