Well it's official that Everett is looking for a new head as is Glendale.

I'm pretty sure that Glendale opens all coaching jobs every year. I don't know for sure if their young coach resigned or not. I think it's just Glendale's standard operating procedure to open jobs at the end of a season. I remember they opened it two years ago before Keith decided to go to Mo Valley. So I'm guessing there's not really a job to be had. The procedure probably prevents the obvious ousting that sometimes occurs at other schools "We're opening the position this year. You are welcome to reapply."

Also, did anyone clarify if Mike Smith will be back at the helm of JV next year? I find it hard to believe that they'd fire him after all the success he's brought with such small teams.

The story from the mountaintop is that Glendale does open all coaching jobs at the end of their
respective seasons. Look for no change there.

A story from the Valley has all football coaches dismissed with the invitation to reapply.
However the good guy Mike more or less won't be back.
JV School Board acting like the high and almighty Hollidaysburg board.
Coach Smith a great guy. Good offensive mind. He always had to battle the top row bleacher
coaches.
Coach will end up somewhere.

New coach already picked at Mt Union and one coming on board at Philipsburg.

Any updates on the Everett position? Did all the local usual's apply again? Rumor has it the guy I mentioned earlier that basically got laughed out of the interview, is applying again.

What is the status of Smith from JV? I hear great things about him, and his offense would be a nice fit for our athletes. If not him, hopefully they go outside our area.

What happened to the coach at Philipsburg? Did he quit or get fired?

Rumors around P-O are that Mike McQuery has offered to do the job for free.

As crazy as it sounds, I too have heard from some of the coaches towards State College that McQueary is interested in the P-O job. Why, I have no clue! No disrespect to P-O, but I wouldn't think that a team with only a couple wins in the past 2 years would be a very attractive opening for McQueary. I understand Mike McQueary isn't Larry Johnson or Tom Bradley applying for local jobs, but still I would think that he could get a better HS football coaching job than P-O. Any previous ties to P-O that I'm not aware of that would make this more logical?
