Georgetown has a home game this Saturday against Charlotte. The Hoya players have asked their coach if they can shoot more from behind the arc. That way, when they make a three and the ref raises both arms to signify it's good, they can all yell, "Hands up! Don't shoot!!!!"

I was at the Pitt game, they were firmly in control up around 16 points with about 7 minutes to play. They let Manhattan hang around with some dumb turnovers and they closed the gap to around 9 points. Never got much closer, but it shouldn't have been as close as it was.
Manhattan isn't bad, they could very well win their league and head to the dance. They gave Louisville all they could handle last season.
I can't say enough good things about Jamel Artis and his position change. He went from small forward to power forward last game and Pitt appears to be a better team for it.

I must say, I was very skeptical of the Rob Krimmel hire but this is the best I can remember St Francis in a long time.

...Congrats to the NITS for going 12-1 in the non-conference part of their schedule, which ended today in a 69-49 win over Dartmouth (not sure of their mascot). They will start the Big Ten schedule on New Year's Eve in Madison. PSU had 2 road games this year, except for the Charleston Tournament. They traveled all the way to Lewisburg to play Bucknell, and made a grueling trip to Allentown to play Drexel. According to Jeff Sargarin, there are 351 Division 1 basketball teams. PSU, as of Sunday, had a strength of schedule of 307. They rank 102 in the Sagarin ratings. Quotes from BWI on today's game:
...1) Pat Chambers said, " I thought it was a great non-conference (schedule), that is going to prepare us for the Big Ten".
...2) Pat Chambers said, " We can get a lot better, which is really scary to me on how good we can be. Everybody knows we had a good non-con. We look forward to the challenge".
...3) DJ Newbill said, " We feel we can play with anybody in the country".

Based on the teams the other Big Ten teams have lost to in the non-con (Gardner-Webb, Incarnate Wood, E. Washington, NJIT, Texas Southern & North Florida) maybe he was right about it preparing them for the Big Ten!
