Re: Top area girls players
There are plenty of good players in the area. There is a difference between the top players and the good players that you find on just about every team.
Re: Top area girls players
Surprised Boring didn't make the topic starting list of players. There is a ton of interest in her at the D3 level and from a few PSAC schools...

Re: Top area girls players
I think this was a start of the list....it is subjective as stated....I don't think some of these girls are "top" but they are "good"....they are players to follow. I have seen Boring play over the years. She is a nice player. I think she is much better when she has other contributing players around her. Her school team was rebuilding around her last year. I hope she does well this year.districtsixhoops wrote:It’s all subjective and I’m sure I’ve missed some but off the top of my head here is my list.
Haley Thomas - Bishop McCort
Kasey Engle - Tyrone
Karson Swogger - Bellwood
Kyla Irwin - State College
Paige Whitfield - Altoona
Madison Shetrom - Altoona
Kourtney Beamesderfer - Penns Valley
Ryley Lewis - BG
Lili Benzel - BG
Jill Scott - Forest Hills
Alyssa Martinazzi - Bishop Carroll
Lexi Wozniak - Portage

Yes, my list was subjective as I stated and I just put it out there for conversation. I agree, some are good. The top players, IMO, play on both ends of the floor and can take over a game when need be.
Haley Thomas, Kasey Engle, Karson Swogger, Kyla Irwin, Jill Scott and Ryley Lewis can do this AGAINST QUALITY COMPETITION. They play at both ends of the floor and make their teammates better. I'd take them any day. Others are very good. A couple are undersized which hurts and there is a player or two that only like to play at one end of the floor. I've seen Boring play a couple times a year in each of the past three years. She's a very good player and, like I said in original post, I'm sure there are others.

Disagree with Scott....not a strong defensive player.....in the games I watched. I like the coach's kid ;) Maybe you saw more from her than I did. Although Benzel dominates on the offensive side, I still think she plays hard on defense. I would put her on the elite list...even though I loath BG.districtsixhoops wrote:Yes, my list was subjective as I stated and I just put it out there for conversation. I agree, some are good. Re: Top area girls players
I would go with Swogger, Benzel, Thomas, Spinelli, Lewis, Enterline, Stanko, Cecere, and Scott as an A team. Interestingly enough.....had a difficult time thinking of a TRUE post player. Thought of Audley and Williams (BC) My list has a lot of guards that also are active in the post. Any strong post players?District6ball wrote:There are a lot of great players this upcoming year! This upcoming year should be great to watch. This is a fun post to watch. I have seen a lot of these girls play. Now give us a great 1st and maybe second team with all the local teams. A team that you would take anywhere to win!!!! GO!
Re: Top area girls players
My top 5 regardless of position. Thomas, Swogger, Cecere, Enterline, Lewis... agreed mostly guards... Audley and Williams as post players... Enterline plays strong inside also...she looked good at the Summit fall league the times I have seen her play

Re: Top area girls players
If this first five is all of district six my five are:
Lewis
Engle
Thomas
Swogger
Irwin from SC
I would play anyone with those five.
