lot of people calling the Juniata schedule "suspect".  They played a schedule very similar to Tyrones. We have a power ranking page that rates teams basically on wins/losses...tyrone and juniata are 12th and 14th respectively. http://www.westernpafootball.net/db/rankings/index.php5

You are correct, believe this was the older Franco's senior year. Central Cambria beat them at Mansion and then again at Tyrone the next year in 08. I believe Tyrone was the top seed both times.

I would agree, Bill, Juniata and Tyrone did play similar schedules and come out with equal records. I guess the mountain league just gets a little more respect than tri-valley. It's hard to have a power ranking when you can't factor in strength of schedule.

Power polls are tough in HS.  For instance, I see West Middlesex is immediately above West Alleghany in the poll.  West A would hang 70+ on WM.   But, it gets debate going.  Keep up the good work

Years ago a team walking in to Tyrone would have to deal with an incredible crowd disappointingly this has not been the case in recent years, they definitely had a home field advantage.

why didn't anyone let Juniata know that in 1996 tyrone went undefeated? Why didn't anyone let the Indians know that tyrone has more experience? Here is some trivia, when is the last time a non-LHAC team beat tyrone at home in the playoffs? Answer Saturday Night.

why wasn't Juniata informed that tyrone districts in 1988? that could've helped tyrone maybe score twice instead of once. p.s huntingdon has beaten tyrone more times that tyrone has beaten us. so I don't wanna hear it.

Haha yea I don't know if it's updated yet but it's 39-42-4 all time if it's not it will be 41-42-4. Plus 14 straight games pal and now that Wagner is leaving not that he helped you beat us in all his years. We will eclipse the bear kittens very soon. Your a joke Tyrone beat Huntingdon and your still on here running your gums.

I was in town for Saturday night's game. What a disappointing turnout from the Golden Eagle fans. There was a time when Gray Vets Field was THE most intimidating environment for opposing teams to enter in Central PA, especially during the playoffs. What is the reason for the lack of support? Did the entire town throw in the towel when Coach Franco left for Altoona. Really disappointed in Saturday. It's a shame for the kids in the program now who grew up watching the revered teams of the past decade or so. The mystique has certainly worn off.
