Portage's pass game is way down from years past so if the run game isn't working then look for it to be a possible long night for the Mustang's offensively. I don't know enough about Homer offensively to really break down that matchup except that its no secret if the Wildcats pass the football, Portage is suspect in the defensive backfield. Weather forecast doesn't seem favorable for Saturday night so look for to maybe play some sort of factor as well, especially in the turnover catagory. Homer is the clear favorite and mostly everyone is picking them. A decent amount of folks on here picked Penns Manor last week as well. HOPEFULLY Portage rises to the challenge again on Saturday, the Mustangs have matched up well with upper Heritage teams in the past few years with positive results. We shall see what this weekends game will bring. Good Luck to both teams.

This refers to a defensive player (usually a linebacker or defensive back) whose sole responsibility is to shadow the quarterback. Typically the defensive player floats just off the line of scrimmage, if the quarterback rolls left, he rolls left. If the quarterback runs with the ball, he follows. A spy is mostly used on a dual threat quarterback as opposed to a pocket passer.

Hey youngbuck, the player in question is not the Qb, and if your favorite team(which I don't think you have one BC..well you know) does not shift when they read sweep. They will not catch the player in question. 101 D-fense!! And I am sorry I put those apostrophes in my post, hope you got past them to read the rest of this.

Shade did this to Berlin in '03 against D'Carrion and they beat Berlin. I'm pretty sure it was Maddy. Every where D'Carrion went Maddy went. St. Clair is 44% of Portages offense so.......if you stop him, you're doing pretty good. That's in the WestPAC though where we do dumb things cause we're all a bunch of poor farm boys. We probably shouldn't even play football, but we just don't know no more better.

Hank, just love the double negative at the end. That should stump him.

Have never heard of a team playing a spy against a running back, but I guess this happens all the time in the Westpac, well just the better teams do it. Stang, a shift would occur before the snap, so how can you tell what the play is before the ball is snapped. By spy, do you mean the two defensive players lined up behind the defensive line, oh those are also known as linebackers. Also , the punctuation that you used is what is known as quotations.
And my man Hank, still sulking from a Berlin beat down last weak, thanks for your reference to a defensive scheme used 13 years ago. That was strong support for Stang, who stated that several of the better teams played a spy or even two to stop St. Clair. But you only could come up with one team doing it more than a decade, and because I know that you know football, if you did not talk about any teams running double running back spies then it did not happen
Thanks to both of you and remember ' apostrophe. "Quotation

Once again you've supplied us with nothing of any real importance. I give an example that I'm very familiar with because my brother was on that team. All it is is man to man coverage with the safety following the running back wherever he goes., but that's not a good enough answer for you. I'm pretty certain you can even do this on Madden (oh, now you think a video game and playing in the WestPAC are the same). Maybe I need to be a better jerk so that you'll understand me better. Calling the WestPAC out and telling me that I'm quote sulking quote, just drives home the point that you're very juvenile and incompetent of saying anything of logic or importance. FYI in the Fearless Forecast, I had Ridge winning so...

Ok..youngbuck .. I'll bite on this or last time..See it all the time, a LINEBACKER or SAFETY or whoever on the D side following a runningback wherever they go. The Defensive coordinator is worried about a certain back, so he coaches and teachs certain defenders the week prior to the game, to "KEY" OR FOLLOW the back. Hmm..spy..spying. Sounds like a fitting term.. or maybe its just a Westpac thing...
On another note, I am so happy for you passing my punctuation test... ; )
