In most cases I would agree, but for a 5' 6" player for ND named RUDY... its was enough

In some things, having heart matters more than others. I'd say in track and field, heart does matter, because it's how bad you want it that helps determine how likely you are to get it. If you go out and mess around in practice everyday, and don't get anything done, then when meet time comes, you're not ready. You didn't put your heart into practice, and you didn't get anything out of it. If however, you put forth your best effort, do some training on your own over the weekend, such as running hills or speedwork, then you will get better, because you did put your heart into it.

back to polevaulting...bedford has probly the biggest vaulter going out this season, flyboy will b attempting to vault this season, i imagine he will be using a small tree instead of a pole tho....

Actually, preseason consisted of us constructing equipment to get better on. We'll see if it pays off!
