Chris, back in the 90s-mid 2000 the LHAC was the best of the best tough to beat in D6 unless you're name was Tyrone. Today I personally think the LHAC took a step back in athletism not the other conferences catching up to them.

I agree, and they are obviously still the best conference.  However, I think some people have still been living in the 90's to the mid 2000's and are now realizing that there are other good teams from other conferences.  Even if their conference as a whole isn't as good. (Liggy)

I think that's been the case for some time. A lot of leagues locally don't have the depth of others, but a good team is a good team.

Losing Smith, Custer and Parrish is tough to make up for. McCort has a stable of athletes and arguably the best defensive player in the area Ridge Phillips. Liggy is still tough, but I think McCort matches up much better with them this year.
Smith and Parrish are big losses, but that LV defense seems to be dominant again. Don't forget that LV has arguably one of the best athletes in the state in Tutino and Daugherty is a matchup nightmare. Unless McCort got exponentially better than they were last year I just don't see them giving LV much of a  game.

The Heritage is a good conference.   It is a single A conference.  Hard to compete with Ligonier when most schools graduate around 60 kids and Ligonier is on the cusp of AAA.   If Forest Hills played in the West Pac it would make those teams look really bad as well.   My point being Chris, don't disparage the conference because Ligonier has a really good team in a different classification that makes it physically hard for the other teams to compete.   Not taking anything from Ligonier, they are very good.  It doesnt mean everyone else stinks in the league.  I think both Homer and NC will win at least one game in the Single A playoffs.

No need to get defensive with me.  I support the Heritage. All I said was the Heritage isn't as strong as the LHAC.

Liggy 62 PM 0.
You gonna put Liggy on turf with their speed?  Forget about it (Lee Corso voice)

PL 36 MC 6 to much speed on PL.

Homer 28 Northern Cambria 24

Shamokin 22 United 24. Tough call as I am unsure if Silk is playing for United due to injury.  I am assuming he will play and if he does they win.  If he does not the Shamokin wins.

Upset special.
Saltsburg 28 Blairsville 21.  Saltsburg gets back their starting RB this week.  He sprained an ankle in the 1st series of the first game and has not played since.  Also back are 2 linemen that sat out last week as well as a starting WR.  Gibbons should have a field  day passing as the kid has a great arm.  Blairsville has started it's downward spiral and their dominance in coming to an end.  A RB that was supposed to get significant minutes transferred to the Kiski School this year and they had the well documented "transfer" of Dakota Sunday to Homer.  Rivalry game so I will go with the home team here.
