I'll take BG in this one.
Coaching  BG>>>J-town
star players  J-town >>  BG
depth  BG  >>  J-town
BG is the more physical football team and I think they also have the better scheme.  BG will limit big plays and have enough players on the back end to limit the J-town vertical threats while making it tough for J-town to run.  BG has been in the big games and are able to play 48 minutes.  I think BG controls the clock and grinds out a win.

I'm saying the streak continues. I've seen them both play and Johnstown is not discipline and BG will run their offense that no one has been able to contain. It is no doubt the biggest test that BG's defense will face. Rumor has it, BG's offensive coordinator hasn't called a play since week 3 and they are still dominating. Still should be a good game though.

Yasulitis is listed at 6'0" 217
Sankey 6'2" 208
And John Fanelli also saw many reps but just one carry against CC and is listed at 6'1" 208
Like I said, when you have 2 backs that big regularly get the ball and another one blocking, good luck to any A school around here beating them
Yas at 217?  Okay, maybe.  Fanelli does get the ball but not in a primary role.  I was working from observation rather than a listing, but your point is well taken.  BG's backs are big for single A.
Here's a thought:  Last year BG did outcoach Jtown.  Not only because Jtown failed to use Loe, but BG's gameplan worked to the single biggest advantage that they had over Jtown last year, and that was the line of scrimmage.  BG went into that game with a top thrower in Trybus, but tore up their playbook and ran Irwin up the middle 37 times (I'm pretty sure of that number).  At 4-5 yards/carry they wore Jtown down.  IMO, none of this year's runners can match Andrew Irwin for smashmouth running, but this year they have a 3-man rotation of power runners.  Depth. Always fresh.   I look for more of the same punctuated by throws out of the backfield by Yasulitis and Berish.  Watch for Conrad to pitch and get open.

No, there are no 4A teams in 1A either at the district or state level.  BG's front 7 will overwhelm any Single A team in the state.  Only Jeannette has the chance to avoid the mercy rule, only because they have the fastest Single A team in the state.  I haven't seen Johnstown play but if they don't have a legit passing game BG wins by at least 21.
After beating two 4A teams, two 3A teams, and three 2A teams.    BG could face United, Ferndale, and Homer/ Portage, all mercy rule games.  That will be fun.  And people are worried about allowing 12 teams in the Single A play-offs.  lol.  At least with 12 you might have a better chance of seeing a couple of competitive games before Guilfoyle wins their fourth straight.

Thanks for the solid insight.
The state record winning streak is Clairton's 66.  What you're confirming it that this Friday could be the biggest hurdle this year and a huge step toward reaching the magic number.   That just adds another level of excitement to this one.

The thing about this game that is concerning from a Johnstown point of view is that their defense will have to play nearly perfect in the field position game. Almost can't let BG inside the 35 because Kolten is so good. They are almost guaranteed points on the board. Having a kicker like that is such a weapon in the HS game. And when you start holding teams to FGs you better be able to better that with TDs or you can be in trouble.

That all being said, I think Friday is the night the BG streak stops.

Marino is underrated in this game at least.

Yazulitis is a close carbon copy of Irwin, although a little smaller, but solid between the tackles runner with enough speed to make some nice gains.    Johnstown will see a healthy dose of him all night.   The BG offensive line wins enough battles on Friday night to ensure the winning streak continues.
If Johnstown can create turnovers/ get ahead 2 or more scores, they have a chance to make it interesting, but will need to force BG into throwing

BG wins against a sloppy jtown team. I can't see how jtown pulls the upset. BG goes on to win yet another state title.
