That one is so old
So West pac is so good because no big schools ?
Go on max and look at strength of schedule
Of West pac girls teams and lhac teams
It’s ok to have weak conference but don’t expect big things in state playoffs Sorry

Central is home vs Huntingdon Friday night and can clinch the Mountain League title and #1 seed in 3A with a win.

So old? that you compare the WestPAC and the LHAC? Like you compare SEC and the PSAC? WestPAC is much smaller than the LHAC. WestPAC schools do a decent job at scheduling out of conference games against larger schools like the LHAC, but what do you expect? Idk, why I even bother. Just flex your cyber muscles.

The funny thing is the only reason why the LHAC is better then the westpac is the catholic schools. None of the other teams are that great besides FH and JTown and they should be for how big they are.

LHAC is conference win big schools in it westpac is A and AA teams so obviously LHAC should be better that doesn’t/shouldn’t take anything away from som very quality teams in Berlin, North Star and Windber in girls hoops. And what big things has a public school from LHAC done lately?
Why can’t we praise the overall quality of basketball we have in the area instead of saying this conference is better then that one. Especially when we are talking about completely different classifications.

Hmm.  'how big they are' , is a relative term.  The next 2 year cycle has FH @ 3A.  Thats less than half of a maximum for 6AAAAAA.  We've only been 4AAAA for the past couple cycles, more out of the norm, than norm.  The sad fact is the West Pac may win an occasional crossover match, in any sport, say in tournaments, but predominantly, the LHAC is heads and shoulders above them, and it isn't just the Bishops.

But once again they are "bigger", this cannot be denied. I don't understand why there's a need to pound the chest of the LHAC over the WestPAC when they are not the same. LHAC schools aren't State College, Pine Richland, or North Allegheny, but they are much bigger than most of the WestPAC schools. Turkeyfoot isn't going to compete year in and year out with a Forest Hills team, but Berlin, Shade, Shanksville are usually able to compete with any LHAC school, in basketball. Compare the LHAC and the Mountain Conference. Compare the WestPAC and the ICC. Schools of equal sizes. Get over yourself. If we're so bad or pathetic then go play someone else.

The largest girls school in the WestPAC is North Star, with 139 girls, which would be 11th out 12 in the LHAC.   The Laurel Highlands is always going to be noticeably better as a league top to bottom than the WestPAC for that reason alone.  You have a lot of big AA to AAA schools in the league versus a league of schools among the smallest in the state.
The top teams in the WestPAC are as good as anyone around, but once you start getting further down the line there's quite a significant dropoff that you don't see in the LHAC.

A middle of the pack WestPAC team probably finishes towards the bottom of the LHAC.  A middle of the pack LHAC teams probably finishes towards the top of the WestPAC.

In crossover games this year....
North Star - lost to Westmont twice.
Windber  - lost to Forest Hills
Conemaugh Township - lost to Central Cambria
Meyersdale - lost to Central Cambria
Berlin - lost to Forest Hills
Shanksville - beat Somerset
Ferndale - lost to Richland
Portage - beat Penn Cambria, lost to Central Cambria, beat Somerset, lost to Penn Cambria
Conemaugh Valley - lost to Somerset, beat Richland

So you have middle of the pack LHAC teams (Westmont, Central Cambria) beating teams towards the top of the WestPAC.

No intent to pound the chest or denigrate the West Pac. They are what they are, and it isn't equal.  We can all agree I think.  BTW, after the next 3-4 yrs., Hank, y'all can pound on the Lady Rangers.  Doesn't appear to be much coming up.  Now the Ranger fans can pound on me too.

Understood, I just get irritated too easy, which I shouldn't by now, but especially on the boys side we have a lot of great crossover games.
