PHills

PHills won their first round playoff game big over the Pitts City's #1 AAAA team by 21. Then, PH played well for a good bit of the game against Cville, but got sloppy and ended up only winning by 1. Then, PH dominated Pitts CC by 11 Saturday, and controlled the entire 2nd half vs. State College.

That's about as close to rolling through teh playoffs as a SIX SEED from a DISTRICT could get. I repeat, PH WAS THE 6 SEED OUT OF THE WPIAL.

Penn Hills's guards are athletic as all get out. Sj=killed players? Maybe not, but speed and quickness kills, doesn't it? #3 Knight was the best pg I saw in the west this season. OI don't know who you think was a better pg...Norwood? Please, Knight dominated him twice scoring 22 and 20 points and limiting him to nothing. Now, tell me Shubik is better than Knight.

Ionadi (#20) is a VERY good player, scored like 12000 career points. Very tough, athletic kid.

Harvey inside is an absolute rebounding machine.

I do agree that PH's offense basically consists of a lot of standing around and dribble penetration and kicking the ball around for open shots or lanes where players can create. PH plays a very "urban" style of basketball...However, Penn Hills is A LOT better defensive team than they get credit for. They are quick to the ball and when they CHOOSE to defend and don't take plays off, they defend well. PH can be a sloppy team at times, but they are DARN GOOD when they put it all together.

Regardless of what you think, PHills can win a slowdown type game. They beat State 59-49 the 1st time the two teams played in a slower game. They played Shaler slow for 3 quarters and led 39-34 at the end of three. PH does pound it inside a bit more when forced to do so.

PHills is better than you think. A LOT better. Just ask Drew Frank.

BTW, Sports 999...

D6 may have been 4-0 vs. the WPIAL but try these scores on for size:

Bradford 53 Central Cambria 33

Moon 54 Bradford 36...and Moon was 0/9 FTs in the 2nd half.

How bad would Moon have beaten CC??????

Can you say 30???

I would hope that the champion of the almighty WPIAL could take down the lowly 3rd place team from the ever so weak District 6.....

I don't understand why the Titan talks to guys like Sports999 in a nice way then blasts the heck out of him saying stuff about losing by 30.

I ran into the Titan this weekend and he didn't seem to pleasant. I got the brush off...ah well.

While at Hershey, The almighty Moon Tigers looked like a MUCH better team when A.Q. Shipley was out of the game. The dude's arms are so huge he can't put them down to his side. He couldn't jump any higher than me, and trust me, I've got no ups. He must have missed at least 5 shots from the block. Definitely not a basketball player, so I will be glad to see him in pads in the fall.

Also, I would rather see Adam DiMichelle playing basketball for Penn State than Mike Walker (aside from the 40ft 3-pointer he drained while being fouled). It was great to finally see Sto-Rox beat Trinity. YEAH PUBLIC!!!!!!!!!!!!! I really don't like you Catholic schoolgoers out there. Hopefully there are none on this site that try to call themselves bleachercoaches. I'm sure Coach would not authorize a recruited bleachercoach!!!!!!

The poll championship goes to TM Fan. After going 0-2 in the first two games he smoked at 5-1 for the last 6 six games. Coach was also 5-3 but only picked 3 West Champs as compared the TM Fans pick of 6. Great year guys. Thanks for going.

Best game of the weekend a tossup between Allentown Central and Lewistown girls, Moon and Holy Ghost, or the rematch between Sto-Rox and Trinity. Most impressive player, probably Dimichele(Sto-Rox) boys, and #21 for Monesson girls. Sexiest player Andrea Kauffman(Lewistown- had a real tan). Least impressive games AA girls or AAAA boys. Advice to next years group, take a muzzle for Hollywood to shut him up, don't sit beside groundhog breath, and don't sit behind the gasman from Bradford. Had a great time, lookin forward to next year.
