Hey theoneandonly,
The Pitt mens team had to play Wisconsin in Wisconsin and still beat them so don't cry about the Lady Lions getting trounced by a BE team close to there home. You all said the Lions should have no trouble with the Huskies. What happened?

tournament games are ment to be played on neutral court. pitt got the shaft there but get over it. when pitt gets some people who can consistantly hit jump shots, then you maybe can talk about pitt basketball on the weekend of the final four.

Boy oh boy ....blah blah blah. PSU's women's team was a very good team, but UConn is still UConn. Mazzante is on the same level as Tarrossi...NO QUESTION.

Austin,
I only brought the Pitt men playing at Wisconsin up because a PSU homer was crying about the PSU women losing because they had to play near UCONN. At least Pitt beat the B10 Tourney champs.

so what? what does this all matter? bottom line is this, neither the psu girls or the pitt men are winning anything this year.

Tarrossi and Beard are both all around better players than Mazzante. I like to know what you guys are smoking to say they are not because it must be some good stuff. The only thing Mazzante can do is hit a wide open shot but who can't do that??? Let Coach open in the corner and see what happens!!!

Mazzante is on that level of greatness with those other women....

* Penn State's Kelly Mazzante (Montoursville, Pa.) was named to her third-straight Kodak/WBCA All-America Team, the WBCA announced today. Only 16 players in history have ever been named to the team at least three times in their career previous to this season.

* This season Mazzante, who was named the Big Ten Player of the Year for the second straight season, averaged 20.0 points per game and 4.1 rebounds per game, in the process re-writing the Big Ten and Penn State record books.

*** In the Lady Lions' first game this season, Mazzante became the all-time leading scorer in Penn State history (male or female). Later in the year she broke the same record in the Big Ten Conference, surpassing Calbert Cheaney's record of 2,613 points (132 games) in just her 116th career game. Mazzante finished her career with 2,919 points, which ranks No. 9 all-time in NCAA history.

* Penn State's Kelly Mazzante (Montoursville, Pa.) has been named to the inaugural John R. Wooden Women's All-American team. She is joined by Duke's Alana Beard, Connecticut's Diana Taurasi, Stanford's Nicole Powell and fellow Big Ten student-athlete, Purdue's Shereka Wright.

She sure looked over-matched in the UConn game!!! I would take both Beard and Tarrossi in building my team of guards before Mazzante.
