I think the key in the Duke vs. Connecticut match-up will be if Emeka Okakor is healthy. He has a bad shoulder now along with his bad back. If he isn't at the top of his game against Duke, they will really have their hands full. I can't wait to watch this.

should be a good game. jim calhoun got the best of ksfchryshefski, or however you spell it, the last time these two programs met in the tournament. this time round the game will be all about the players who will step up and perform on a huge stage. ben gordon has been pretty good at that this past month....

I'm getting sick of reading/hearing about how much better UConn is and that Duke is going to need to play the game of their lives just to hang with the Huskies. They are two great teams... neither is superior to the other. Whichever team plays better will win.... Most people out there are not giving Shelden Williams enough credit... sure he's not the player Okafor is but he is a very talented big man. I think the X factor in this game is going to be Chris Duhon.. not the most talented player on either squad but he is a winner. He has been to this stage before and performed quite well.. playing 39 minutes in Dukes win over Arizona in the Finals a few years back. This kid is a good defender and amazing at running Dukes offense... he also isn't afraid to step up and hit a big shot when the Blue Devils need one. Luol Deng has also been emerging as a star for the Devils... he has been playing very solid defense and also creates match up problems for opposing teams with his versatility. The always dangerous J.J. Redick has added a new aspect to his game... the dribble drive looking for the and one. Duke has the ability to play lockdown defense and are capable of making a team play their game.
Thats my small rundown on Duke... i'm sure Austin will be more then happy to give us one of UConn.
I'm looking for this to be a great match up of two powerhouses... hopefully my Blue Devils can prevail and advance to the Nat'l Championship game to face the winner of the Ga Tech and Ok St match up... we could be looking at an all ACC Championship game!

uconn is much better than duke. duke will need to play the game of their lives just to hang with uconn.
i wasnt gonna get on here and talk about this too much but since the oneandonly called me out on it, i will tell you what uconn will bring to this game. uconn leads the nation in few key categories, rebounding margin, defensive FG%, and blocks. all 3 of these stats are anchored by okafor, although he is not a one man show on the inside. josh boone is an excellent rebounder and defender but lacks a signifacant offensive game while villenueva is a great athlete w/ a nice shooting touch but still plays like a freshman at times.
on the outside, ben gordon is the man, taliek brown is the leader, and rashard andersen is the gunner. all 3 guys play great d but their size is a disadvantage. denham brown has some tendinitis in his knees otherwise, he would be just as scary as andersen, maybe more. instead, he is a step slow and his shot is off now but is smart and will put in some good minutes.
match up wise uconn vs. duke; the defense, the shooting, the leadership, the coaching and all that pretty much cancel out. what could be a deciding factor in uconn's favor is rebounding. uconn is a lot bigger than they typically are upfront and can miss shots and gets second chances. also, they can get their transition game going w/ an outlet pass off a defensive rebound. what could kill uconn is the turnovers. there have been times this year where the huskies make a run of several minutes where they dont make very good decisions. duke can pounce on this and get their transition game going. if duke plays their best and uconn plays their best, the game should go down to the wire when i think ben gordon will make an offensive play or okafor will make a defensive play to win the game for uconn. this is a very very very biased opinion.
the first line is meant as a joke for those of u gettin a lil fired up about it.
