Gunner: 4 people deep in the three throws is tremendous depth.

noname: Ridge has less than 30 girls on the track team this year.

true, but if u think about how many overall points those 4 people scored, then its not that much depth....i forget the exact placings, but i know in 2002 they took 1st in all 3 throws...thats 30 points and i think it was done by only 2 people!

OK southy I did not know that Ridge had around 30 gals out. Traditionally they get around 38-40 girls. My bad. You guys have a really nice squad this year.

noname: thanks for the compliments. It is a credit to the perseverence and dedication of Coach Harlan over the last almost 30 years and Coach Flick over the last ten. Dynasties are built over decades and Coach Harlan paid his dues early and now is reaping the benefits of a strong program.

One more thing, our fastest sprinter from last year did not come out this year and another quick girl that played basketball who I tried to get out didn't. So we could be a little stronger and deeper!

just to point out a rather rare case in which depth need not apply:
last nite at the bellwood invitational Bedford won with 94 points, now of those 94 points, 74 points were scored by 3 people: Troy harris (both hurdles and both sprint relays), Derrick harris (long jump, high jump, both sprint relays) and John Aaron marshall (triple jump, 200, and both sprint relays) now granted there was also shane fox in the 400 relay and brian duff in the 1600 relay assisting the trio...but nonetheless, that is still impressive!
