shadow.......your quote here: "WE ARE AT WAR! "

you mean to tell me president bush lied to me last year, about this time when he called end to major conflict?!?!?!?!?! dont we impeach people when they lie?

to clear things up for you, here are some facts
1. iraq had no involvment in 9/11 (none of the terrorists were Iraqi)
2. no WMDs were found (the "reason" we were to go to war)
3. iraq posed no threat to us

yeah, saddam killed some people, while we were his friends.......what makes you think that some of our "friends" and the president's "friends" don't do the same thing......look at the saudis!

the actions of those few soliders in iraq is sickening.......don't try and glorify it to be something better than it actually is, we as americans have the right to our own views, and no matter how you read american history, we have been wrong........our involvment in iraq, the soliders who did this......we were wrong, you don't have to agree with me........but understand that America is not always right

saddam was the major financer for 9/11...and i could be wrong, but at the time, he did have some association with iraq. and the wmd, when u have 8 years to hide them...ITS GONNA TAKE A WHILE TO FIND! just becuase u dont find what ur looking for right away doesnt mean u give up, u push on until u suceed...tho im not too sure u would know what it takes to succeed based on ur previous posts. finally..about iraq posing no threat to us, before pearl harbor japan was considered "friendly" with the USA, look what happened there. great britain didnt pose a threat to us in the 18th century, nor did spain in the span-am war, or how bout the germans in both world wars, while were at it how bout vietnam? the us is THE world power, it is our job to promote freedom and safety to all people. when someone is in trouble, they turn to the USA, how can u sit there and say the crap u do about a country as great as ours? i for one am D*MN proud to be an American and to live in a country that will stand up for someone else. all this BS about the US needing to help our own people first is bologna, EVERYONE in this entire country has every opportunity they need to HELP THEMSELVES, but people get fat and lazy and want to blame the government because they arent being served by a silver plater. u will not find a country in the rest of the world that has as many freedoms and opportunities as the US and yet all most of us can do is sit around and b*tch. the US is doing exactly what it needs to be doing in foreign affairs, the only thing i can think of they are doing wrong, is we arent doing ENOUGH of it. so for all u people that think what were doing in foreign affairs is wrong, then please, join the military and find out first hand just what exactly is going on and then tell me that same BS story!

If you do the research, most of the terrorists involved in 9-11 came from Saudi Arabia, supposedly a 'friend' of the United States. This country also funds terrorists networks, and nothing has been done about it as of yet, because they're our 'friends.' Man, with friends like that, who needs enemies.

White Shadow, while we were not physically torturing them, we were doing bad things to them just the same. Many of those Iraqis would rather go through some of the treatment just described than to be photographed in the buff by women. Call it a dignity thing. You may think that psychological torture is nothing, but what if you were in a position to be photographed performing sexual acts upon another man while you were being held prisoner? Would that not tear down your dignity, and violate the Geneva Convention? Wouldn't you rather be whipped than be forced to do that with another man, and be photographed in the act? I'm sure that many people on here would rather suffer physical torture than to go through such humiliation.

And what I said earlier about many of the higher ups being in it, I wonder if it's not a bit of a cover up. The first man is about to take the fall, and most likely he was obeying orders. Specialists Joseph C. Sivits, of Hyndman, PA, is to go on trial in about a month to face a special court martial. This one is a little less severe than the others, but he'll stay face dishonorable discharge at the least. Does anybody on here know anything about him or his character personally? This is a local guy that we're talking about.

we're "friends" w/ the saudis becuase of their government as a whole...the saudi arabian government doesnt support terrorism, but there are terrorists from that country...u mite find this hard to believe, but timothy mcveigh was an American (NO! u gotta be kidding me, AN AMERICAN TERRORISTS???? sad to say but its true!) remember the DC snipers...they were American, heck u can even go w/ chucky manson...he was American. no matter where in the world u are, u will find rotten people, its just the way society is, but some countries support the rotten others dont...America is "friends" with those that dont support the rotten and we take action against those that do support it....not a hard concept to follow folks.

The Saudi government doesn't seem to mind that so much of their country's dough goes to support terrorism. Do a bit of research. I read an article in reader's digest about it. Not saying that makes me an expert, but I'd consider them to be a reliable source in general. In fact, if I remember, I think some of their government money goes to these terroristic 'charities.'

We have to have allies in the Mid East. I don't think anyone in their right mind will disagree with that. Believe it or not Iran used to have a moderate secular regime that was completely loyal to the US untill Carter sold them out to Islamo-Facist extreamists. Reagan realized that we needed allies in the region. Iraq was the most logical choice. THAT'S why we sold them WMDs in the first place. If Carter wouldn't have screwed us and the Iranians over we wouldn't be in the situation we are today.

So fleaflicker...are you calling for the invasion of Saudi Arabia? Since the terrorists were from there why not?

knightfan...
1. iraq has been funding terrorism for years. go ask a recent palestinian suicide bomber's family how big of a check they got from Saddam.
2. no WMDs have been found YET. why don't you go join them in the search
3. we know iraq had WMDs at one time since a) they've used them and b) we sold the weapons to them if they had them and used them once...what's to stop them from doing it again?

Yeah, let's blame it all on Jimmy Cricket Carter. That's the ticket.

Iraq posed no threat to the United States of America, there is no proof of Iraq funding the 9/11 events.

even if iraq did have wmd's, what makes you think they would've used them on us? how many of our allies in the middle east have wmd's? what would they have to gain from doing it again? if Iraq had attacked us, i would be behind this........but the fact is, saddam wouldn't be stupid enough to had attacked us, we would destroy that country in an instant, you saw how quickly we took control of it, like 5-10 days, BIG MILITARY STRONGHOLD

i support the troops 100% but i support the president in a negative percentage (if that is possible)

all we are doing is making the middle east mad, basically spitting on their religious beliefs by going into sacred areas, most countries hate us now because of what we are doing and our rushing into this, we had one reason for war in the first place, that was to improve mr. bush's ratings

If the war was ment to put Bush's approval rating up it was quite the political blunder. Besides, his poll numbers were still up from after 9-11.

If Iraq had WMDs (we know he did, just haven't found them yet) he posed a threat to us. We didn't "rush into" this war. It's been years of attempted weapons inspections that have faild because Saddam didn't give the inspectors the full acess that was necessary.

I never said that Saddam funded the 9-11 terrorists. He did however, fund terrorism. Have you talked to that suicide bomber's family yet?

I assure you that, given the opertune chance, Saddam would have used WMDs against us. Look at what he did during Gulf War 1. He launched SCUDs against Israel who has, arguably, the strongest defence force in the Mid East, including nukes. If Saddam had an opertune chance, the weapons would have been used.

I can't believe people that have to wait for an attack to occur before they choose to act. If Saddam had nuclear, bio, or chem weapons and did sell them to terrorists to use against us, it woudl be too late to stop him. There's not doubt that w/ out premption we would fall to the forces of Islamo-Facism. The stakes are simply too high in this time to wait untill the enemy fires first.

warrior....let me put it into prespective, this post-9/11 paranoia doesn't get anybody anywhere, and it digs us a deeper hole

heres my point:

lets just say that I don't like you.....and that I own a gun, okay. Does that give you the personal right to come and kill me? Just because I own a gun doesn't mean I wish you any harm, and striking the blow before someone else does makes you no better than anyone.

imagine this.......in the old west, if you shot a guy in the back of the head, before he could draw, just because you think he might take a shot at you later, you would be a coward and probably be killed yourself.

attacking someone like this......in life, or in foreign policy is irresponsible, we cannot move toward a unified and peaceful being by handling things that way, i believe that when you take a situation and put it down to normal life, it helps your clairity, and everyone should do this to try to get a handle on larger to life things, like iraq, if you wouldnt do it yourself, dont do it as a country, dont support is as one either
