Don't forget about CT's Brian Ferrari in the 1600 as well. He earned a state medal and his time of 4:22. and change is among the three best ever by a D5 High Schooler.
Sprinters---No doubt in my mind Barry Spriggs was the best sprinter in D5 history sorry to disappoint the B.Benbow people. First of all, their times in the 100 are very similar especially when considering FAT's at States. Spriggs also was a three time champion at Districts in the 100. Benbow has the gold medal in the 100 though. But then look at the other sprints (200 &400) and that is where Spriggs truly separates himself as the best ever. State Champ in the 400 and multiple medals in all three sprints.
In fact I would say Rick Hoffman of McConnellsburg is D5 #2 sprinter of all time with a gold in the 400 and silver in the 100. I would put Benbow #3. Jerry Rasmussen of TM was only thing close to Hoffman and Spriggs in the 400 we've ever had around here but he ran a disappointing state final race at Ship. Not sure if injuries or wind may have played a part but he was the only other consistently sub 50.0 400 man we've ever had around here.
