IEATHAM's last comment was the music...and here comes Hollywood...

HAM- Congrats to you, sir. Take advantage of your opportunity to make the most of it. On that same note, how many others on BC heard that McCort's TE, Jose Cruz, is going to Univ. of N. Carolina?

THe other offers i am considering are NC State, Wisconsin, and WVU...I have offers from Boston College, UNC, and Duke too but I don't really think they are a good fit for me.

Bedrock,

Yeah you have to give some players a bone and they can be a project and I am sure/know that is what WVU did with this kid!! I am still going to see and all this talk of him being big time plays off but we will see. I can't wait for the first wed. of Feb. to see where this stud goes ha, ha. Why did he leave Bedford, not good enough football for him to get a good look????

small WOOD...first off...what offensive lineman really isn't a project when they get to college...there are exceptions like Tony Boselli and players like him...but most offensive lineman are a project..second...why would they need to take a project..they are the national champs...they have had two #1 recruiting classes in the last 4 years and last years was second to USC...so I am sure they can get players...not sure why they would take a project...

I am a first time poster and after reading this topic about a kid from the area getting bashed because he is getting recruited by big time programs really shows what a mental midget hollywood is. First of all he professes that he is such a great coach and has this amazing knowledge of football and I ask myself if this guy knew so much about football and wanted to coach they why when he was Rich Rod's GA after only 1 semester that he either quit or got fired. I mean being a GA is a great position to get into and the opportunities are the skies limit if you want to coach football assumingly in college. Why would someone that is getting his graduate school paid for, living paid for, and a small amount ot stipend a month and most if not importantly making connections with other college coaches suddenly be gone from a GA position after only 1 semester and a few months. Something sounds a little funny to me. His responses to Turk getting recruited heavily leads me to believe that latter or my earlier 4 sentences happened.
People should be glad for this kid instead of making inmature comments about how 'They know so much and this kid sucks." I mean how many kids from the District 5/6 area can you remember getting a scholarship offer in football from the previous years National Champion and already having over 10 offers going into his senior year. I can't name anyone. Hollywood must think Nick Saban is a moron, I mean how many national titles has hollywood won, he surely has to know more than Saban. I can't believe that a coach that has won the highest title in his profession would just hand out a scholarship to someone he doesnt beleive he can play. If scholarships were just handed out to everyone, there would be no need to recruit and evaluate players. They would just pass them out on the street. But they dont. D-1A football is BIG TIME money, a coach isnt gonna offer a kid if they don't think they can play, because their jobs are on the line, but hey what does Saban know he hasnt proven himself as a coach yet.
Don't worry about what hollywood says about you Turk, there is always haters out there man. Just keep working and good things will happen.

Maybe Holly was just referring to WVU's offer. WVU did take on a project from this area a few years ago and it didn't really work out for them, so I guess they figured they'd give someone else a chance and give this area one last opportunity to prove itself.
Congrats Turk! And that offer from Bedrock looks pretty tempting!!
