Blairville is in the heritage conference and they will be tough in the playoffs. Windber has won it before and played Carroll tough in the championship game
Bellwood recently (2000) played Tyrone in the championship (AA)
United also has been in the AA championship and I think won it won year recently.

southpaw...windber had how many undefeated seasons in a row? (5 i believe) and how many district titles did they have over that span? (1 i think)...this is the same boat ridge is in, good team in a mediocre confrence and cant do much come playoffs.

Gunner they played Carroll in all of those championships. Beat them once which is more than the Bisons have to date I believe.

I think we have one against them also! But you have a good point southpaw. BC is a real tough team, definately no shame in a loss to them. But I guess they should be since they can recruit. I am from Bedford so I am a little biased towards the Bison. But for someone to belittle Winber is a stretch. They always have a tough team. I would say they are one of the top A schools in the area year in and year out.

Bedford won the first match-up in the Bisons last undefeated season. A match-up with them this year would have been very interesting. Yep. Windber is tough, consistantly. No arguing that, don't take away what they have done because of thier lack of success in the D 5-6 A playoff's, losing to BC 3 years in a row is something that alot of teams have run into in the recent past.

Just my opinion, but if Ridge draws Forest Hills for the first round of the playoff, playing like they are right now, then it would be a well fought battle well worth seeing. The Rangers would probably win by 7 or 10 points, but I don't see a blowout either way. Those teams mentioned, United and North Star, last year I remember them being in the playoffs as the 7 and 8 seeds, playing the top two seeds, and having records like 5-4 or 4-5 in so-so conferences. Not a good situation to be in, and when you're coming in like that, and playing an away game at the big boys' house, losing by 2 TDs is an accomplishment.

flea, just to refresh my memory, but you are in ohio correct? do you come home every week to watch the lions? because you talk about the way they are playing now and all you have to go by is what you see here. it takes alot of brass to say that ridge could hang w/ forest hills, especially when all you know of the two is what is read.

Well Gunner i guess we all cant be as blessed as u are....... I know when i graduate i want to come back to every high school football game and attend all the high school functions. "yeah right". You can learn alot more than u think buy reading the paper and BC..... Just by reading the paper u can hit all the high points of the game and discuss the game as such... So I commend Flea on his insightful look into the playoffs, although i feel a bit premature.....
