This couldn't be any simpler, Holly. Why isn't Louisiana Monroe the number one ranked team in the country right now? When you are a coach who is trying to build a program, INITIALLY you have got to win games with what you already inherited. You have to find ways to win games you should not win. THEN, fans show up and so do recruits. Fan support does not initially build a program. WINNING GAMES with what you have, is what initially starts the ball rolling. That's how coaches move up the ladder, by winning at "bad" schools and then getting promoted to a better program.

As for Zook, look at the players he has pulled in, and look at the class ranks thereof. Most noteably is of course Chris Leak, who is not a native of Florida.
