That's not really an indication of a track "team". It's not uncommon for a state championship team to have just a couple of athletes score the bulk, if not all, of their points.

That's true. Although I can't think of any offhand, I can definitely recall many PIAA championship teams won with 2 or 3 very exceptional individuals who won their respected events.
