Oh Ham's career is over and he's just turning into a grandpa a little early, thats all. Pretty soon Ham will have hit .479 in bare feet, a cigar in his mouth and frost bitten fingers cause there was snow on the field.

I tend to agree to a point with Ham on his notion that hitters are born with a natural abitlity to "swing it." I remember many, many moons ago when a young kid from Bedford was just tearing the cover off the ball in the varsity baseball ranks and no one could seem to get him out.
He hit everything hard with this big, looping swing. He had tremendous bat speed and was rarely fooled with off-speed pitches.
You might ask how can you remember what this kid did with so much detail. Well, I caught for most of my career and one of the quality traits developed by spending all of that time behind the "dish" is to evaluate hitters as to their swing and their tendencies to offer on certain pitches in certain locations.
Anyways, this kid could hit any pitch at any location, except the ball thrown right under his chin. The kid, who in my opinion, developed, or was born as, the best hitter ever to come out of Bedford county.
Any guesses? Hint #1...His home is in the southern tier of Bedford County.
Any and all guesses are welcome...
His name is not Ham...

My guess would be Keith Williams.
