I would put people in the stands and have a reputation a million times better than what he is doing!![/quote]
Unless you're coaching basketball, I don't think that people are going to come running to see the great, haha, Nastasi coach...

AJ Hoenstine is a good guy who will give his best effort to do things right. Could they have done better this year? That's questionable. Will you give him some credit if he wins 4 games before his 5th year????? Like all of us who coach, those first couple years their are growing pains and experiences that either make you or break you.
Coach makes an OUTSTANDING point here, Why don't you give him (Hoenstine) the same chance people gave Joe Nastasi when he went through a tough first couple years after people were used to the outstanding seasons that preceeded his tenure? And perhaps, the same chance you would want to be given if you took over a program that had been unsuccessful for several years like the situation at Central.

youre wasting your time but i will say this that with the talent that nbc had (and i dont know there records over the years) but being that they played at chs i saw quite a few of their games. taking that talent into consideration i think that you(coach) would have made a good coach at nbc if you would have had a couple of years under your belt and applied for the job in whatever year it was. good talent will win games. this isnt the nfl where everyone has bigtime talent and theres a real fine line. high school coaching is relevent that your never as good or bad as things may seem
the north allegheny job is of interest to me and i think if i was a young coach who thought i was god's gift to coaching i sure would apply for that job and walk the walk ,, cause anyone can talk a good game!!

Yeah, HOLLY...Why waste your time at the Centrals of the world???
You are God's gift to HS coaching and quick to critcize...Why not go straight to the top and apply at North Allegheny? I'm sure they'd hire you.

In all seriousness. I do hope Holywood gets a head coaching job soon. It really will be an interesting sight to see him put his coaching philosophy in play. Just based on the concept "before you succeed, you must beleive" he is going to be way ahead coming out the gate.
Some school district give him a shot, soon!

as a coach who has been through the highs and lows, it takes time to put a philosophy and style into place...I'm willing to give someone time....
as far as whose reputation is better, I would not say anything against AJ's reputation or athletic background...
remember, if it were easy, everyone would be doing it.....I listen to those that are in the trenches than those than are on the sidelines giving a free perspective....
and this is not against anyone on here...I would love to see AJ put his philosophies into action....but, the real test is to take a program that is down and turn it around....almost anyone can coach if you have the horses....take the challenge and build the program....
and this post is not just for AJ or Hollywood, but anyone willing to pay the price to do the job...I love to win, but high school sports is more than just wins and losses, no matter how you want to slice it....

From what I am reading Hollywood you are stating Central would have had a better season if you were coaching. I don't see it. Just because you were a great player in HS and an average player in college does not mean you are going to be a great coach. If this were true Richland with Bailey at the helm would be a better team than it has been in the past.
I CALL THEM LIKE I SEE THEM.

Ok I must influence a lot of people on here because things I say people start to use, that is funny to me if I have no pull around here and around the nation. I know a lot of good players that are great coaches. Helps to been there done that. I think you guys are just too soft on HS coaches around this area. Go read CRlion post, enough said one smart person in here. WT-why don't you get your great coaching ability and apply for that job at NA? I am sure they would want a good coach like yourself. I will save myself for college and make tons of money and have many athletes and you guys can make 1,000 a year and coach unathletic kids in HS.

Don't get me wrong wood...being a college athlete will help you as a coach...you probably have forgotten more about football than I know but...just because you played at the D-1 level will not make you a great coach.
