i thought for sure that king would pick one of the big bcs programs in area. hes from pittsburgh and the nations #1 program is in morgantown. why would he pick psu over those 2? what kind of guy would go to a losing program over 2 that are winning? not many recruits do that. maybe he didnt realy have all those other offers and he was just fibbing? maybe he will change his mind and go to ohio st if they give him a good offer (if you know what i mean) before signing day

I typed up a huge reply, but none is needed. I think the last couple of years at PSU have been the own players personal work ethic. They have a lot of talent coming out of high school then turn to crap at PSU. I doubt it is there abilities, but their dedication to be the best they can be. There are kids who want to work very hard, and others who come late or miss meetings (Austin Scott) and feel the world should be handed to them. Last year, the only players I saw out at local pubs were usually on Offense, and this year from what I have been told from a friend on the team, and from friends who still attend there, it some of O's players who are out on the town during the week. Last year if the team would have not been out at 2am then a certain student in my own curriculm would not have spilled a beverage on a player and the officer would not have smelled anything on him to suspect a DUI.
Ooops, I typed a large reply after all.

The problem I don't believe is ethic or anything like that....
I think it is a lack of playmakers on offense to stretch a defense. The Oline is bound to look terrible when team's literally dare you to throw by manning up and sticking 8 guys as tight as you'll see them in the box for college football. Teams have NOTHING to be scared of. King is a guy that can play 2 ways if needed and has 4.3 speed. Hopefully Williams is next as he is considered the #1 prospect in the entire nation regardless of position. The #1 prospect overall last year is running all over the place in Norman, OK as the best freshmen in the nation, Adrian Peterson.
Morelli has the cannon and NEEDS a guy like DWill. King bolsters the defense as he was the #1 corner prospect nationwide...the kid will also be a PR and KR if they want to use his incredible athleticism there too.
PSU needs....NEEDS...needs...DWill. I'm glad he is great friends with Mr. King.

You PSU haters are falling all over yourselves trying to downplay King's decision. The fact remains, had he chosen your schools, you'd both be positively orgasmic.
Plus, hate the school but not the kid. It's plain meanspirited to wish someone ill fortune just because he's chosen an enemy school.
Personally, I think the Nits are gonna have to do a lot more than get high school phenoms to change things -- whatever JoedPa's exit strategy might be.

BIG BIG BIG
that is what this is for psu. what will king provide psu? he is now their fastest player. he will be starting at psu in the winter term also so that he can get a head start on school work and football. conner did this last year.
jk could have many roles next year. king can play defense, probably the nickel back assuming zemaitis does not go pro. he can return kicks, i think this could be his biggest role next year. he can play something on offense, slot wr would be my best bet depending on who else the lions have at their expense. but thats not all...
him committing to the lions could be the beginning of a domino effect of solid recruits. this could be the beginning of an excellent recruiting class.
dont be so jealous haters.....be proud of your 8 win seasons

haters? What do we have to hate on? He is going to a losing program that is bad, so they are suppose to have great players yeah right. do they even have an O-line or WR?? They are bad and will continue to be bad until some good coach gets in there and coaches these so-called stars up a little. I have seen many 5 star players flop in college. He has not done a thing for them yet, let alone sign yet either!

Yeah talk about OSU and Michigan and Wisconsin and Michigan State and Iowa and Purdue like they couldn't have won the Big East. There's not one team in that list that Pitt could beat. BC would win one or two because they're inconsistent as usual and would pull a couple out. WVU would get beat by every one of those team except Purdue. Face it, WVU's offense is nowhere near what they were hyped, and the defense is terrible. Good luck in your BCS game, it's the last you'll see once Louisville shows up. And if Cincinnati plays next season like they are right now you'll lose to them too. Hopefully WVU will land a BCS game against Michigan, but the real slaughtering I can't wait to see is WVU vs. California. You gotta love it when a terrible secondary squeaks by all season and then gives up 75 points to a team with an actual passing attack.

I don't know what's going on at PSU, really. Maybe Joe Pa is too old and senile to run the program, or maybe offensive players got ignored in the recruiting process. All I know is that this program isn't going to be good next year, or probably the year after. The problems that they are having right now, I think, run deeper than just a few playmakers here or there. But who knows.
Justin King committing to PSU may or may not have been a smart move. Depends on what he wanted. If he wanted on a winning program, I doubt he would have went there. He probably wanted to have an immediate impact as a starter and to get a chance to show his stuff during his first year. He will get that chance. He may have even wanted a chance to play under the legendary JoePa, even though the man now is hardly what his legendary self was 20 years ago. But nonetheless, that's where he chose to go, and I think he knows why he wants to go there rather than anyplace else.

yeah that is why players go to Temple, Ole Miss, and Illinois to start for 4 years and lose!! How fun is that?
