Lions07, no one said there weren't any other good players on the team. They were pointing out the fact that Brian is pretty much our main player. Seeing as how he did break our school record, no wonder everyone is going to assume that he's one of our best and our main player. No one is taking anything from the other players. Sometimes Brian may need to pass more and do other things differently but if he didn't take charge out there and penetrate and take shots like he does, would anyone else get the job done? I'm not saying he is the only one that can or will get the job done but he's the one that always ends up doing it and getting it done efficiently. Also another thing, it's pretty hard to always stay on topic in threads like these.

Ridge05, you are right about Ben and the other players getting credited. Sometimes they don't always get the credit they deserve. Good point.

You are right that Brian is basically the guy to win the game For us!! He has been for the past 4 years!!

The book says play for the tie, and if you lose in OT it's bad luck.
But play for the victory in regulation and lose? You're a bad coach

Soccerchick184, lions07 is not the only one who said about everyone thinking that Brian is the best. I did also, so don't go telling her your problems. I feel that Brian is over-rated, quote me on that because I said it. And Brian does not always get things done effectively, maybe you think he does, but he doesn't. Yes, Brian broke the school record, it can be broken again. I was talking to parents from Everett last Friday and they were talking about Brian not being a team player. It is not just I who seems to think so. Many people see what is really going on there. And thank you for seeing my point about the other players not getting the credit they deserve. I think that it is time to start changing that.

i have a question, and it's a serious question. when the lions loose all i hear is brian had an off night...why? because he is our main man...with out him in the game others have to step it up and ben has done that this year, props to him, but brian is still the leader and best player on this team hands down, next year is ben's year. i like ben, i really do, he's a very good friend of mine, but he isn't at brian's level yet

I see your point infinity. But I don't agree. What exactly is Brian's level?

it's not a measurable thing, it's the leader of the team aspect, brian has it this year, ben's got it next year. Ben will have his time in the spot light this year and most certainly next year, but right now that light belongs to brian

i think that the light belongs to brian simply because he broke the schools all time scoring record... yeah that is a great accomplishment... but had it been someone else that broke that record the team would be all about them... i think the brian being the leader is more like senior senjority rather than talent... he is good don't get me wrong... but no i don't think he is the best thing to happen to basketball...

The only "light" that matters is the one that shines on the team -- not on individuals. Personal achievements HAVE to be secondary to team success or else there is no team.

Brian is a talented athlete. He has the ability to step on the court and be "the man". The question keeps coming up that he is not a team player. My question is this. And to this point no one has answered it. Great team chemistry is a result of great team coaching. Organizing and grouping the members of the team to function as a unit. The question is this: Is this team being coached to play as a team?
