Pitt should ask PSU for a 2 to 0 series and if PSU doesn't accept, then don't play them.

They have that leverage on PSU in hoops.

See...I can go both ways with the argument and in my opinion Pitt would be able to do this. If PSU doesn't want that...then they can look elsewhere for a game. I know hoops is a lot different than football though...I'm just trying to help my argument!

Ya, but you can find a million opponents in basketball. Many pretty close to home. Remember PSU playing Division II Lock Haven last year? Football opponents are limited. Need to really plan ahead for those, many years in advance.

Coach!!!!! Pitt wouldn't do that....it's called ethics. Their not gonna stoop to PSU's level and slap them in the face. I must say your innovative at compiling some arguments to try and defend your hero JoePa but c'mon. Pitt wouldn't do that to a Div. I-A school in either sport. Neither would ANY other university. Show me one other example of that ever happening? Any one game series that have ever been played among I-A universities have been to fill a void in the schedule, and involved a huge financial guarantee.
Excuse me while I draft a letter offering Everett a 2 for 1 series now that we have a superior stadium at NB, if they don't accept the offer it will obviously be there fault that a 45 year old rivalry dies and we will blame the Warrior brass for the end of this series.

Good Post Head Roadie! Penn St. thinks they are better than everyone else in football and that is how their fans are! If someone challenged me to a game, I would go and beat them either home or away just to prove a point but that is me and my team!!

Ohio probably has a bigger fanbase.

And I can't believe I agree with Hollywood. It should not be about financial gain, it's about proving a point. So go beat PSU 10 times in a row at Beaver Stadium and then let the rest of the country laugh at Penn State for not playing some of them at Pitt whenever Pitt is clearly better. Prove your point if they won't play home for home games!

I guess I left out the word 'major' I-A. Of course the smaller non-BCS conferences will play the 2 for 1 deal or accept a guarantee to go to the BCS-conferences. Maine is getting a nice chunk of change, as an example, to go to Nebraska this year. Pitt and Ohio are in a 2-1 deal I believe. There are no BCS Conf. vs BCS Conf. games on your list that are not being returned.

The only games on your list that qualify are WF @ Nebraska and that's either a 1 for 1 or (slight possibility) Huge guarantee equivalent of one W.Forest home game (Which Neb. can afford and still make $$ considering their stadium size). Other is Iowa St. @ Iowa and that, my friend is a vintage in-state series just as we are talking about, that is 1 for 1 every year.

Theory shot!
