Honesty is the best policy?

There are actual parking spaces that I have seen that are designated for expectant mothers. They're right next to the handicapped spots, though they are further back and there aren't nearly as many of them. I don't see a problem with the pregnant women having closer parking spaces. I wouldn't want those poor women to have to waddle across an entire parking lot. Not that I'd know from personal experience or anything, but being pregnant would be tough enough without having to walk more than is required.

But aren't most pregnant women healthy? If not, what are they doing going to the store. And don't they recommend "walking" to keep fit, instead of sitting around all the time. Also, should they be given preference over someone who has arthritis, but not bad enough to get a sticker or license plate?

And this is where every special rights group in America cries foul and demands equal treatment. In the end, once the disabled, pregnant, medically incapable, and diseased of the country get their way, there won't be parking spaces for the rest of us healthy people. And to that end, they'll have to walk a long way anyway, because if every parking space is specially designated, even the very last ones will be needed for them.

There is a big difference here. Handicapped parking is required by law. Parking for new and expectant mothers is done as a courtesy. You're not going to get a ticket for parking there.
It is nice though. It's not such a big deal is summer. But when it's the middle of winter and you're 9 months pregnant and have to carry another kid through the cold and snow it is appreciated.
Pregnancy brings on it's own set of health problems, so for all you guys, I wouldn't judge until you have to carry a baby around in your inside for 10 months.
