Prior to the season, all that was heard was how Pitt's passing attack would be second to none in the Big lEast. How Lee was great and he and Palko make a great QB/WR combination. Now a few things have gone awry, and Lee's overrated. I guess you shouldn't believe all that you hear...

I never said that Greg Lee was a great receiver. I have always felt that he is overrated. He will occassionally make a great catch, but drops too many routine ones to be considered great. His speed is average and he is not a great route runner.

Palko, on the other hand, is a very good college quarterback. He proved that with his great numbers last season. He is struggling a bit this year mainly because the offensive line wasn't very good to begin with before the injuries and his receivers, other than tight ends and Kinder, are not very talented.

Well gee then, let's just take the offensive line away (since they're so crappy) and let Palko try to score then. Like it or not, a football team plays as a unit and the unit is only as good as the sum of its parts. Certain parts, like the offensive line, can make or break a unit. So if Pitt's offensive line isn't good, that isn't an excuse for Pitt's poor offense, because they'd be even worse with NO offensive line.

Moldo, what I'm saying is that it doesn't matter why the team's offense is doing bad, whether it be WR, QB, RB, or OL, but that they are doing bad and it affects EVERYBODY. A team is a team is a team, and they say that a chain is only as good as its weakest link. If Palko's OL sucks, that doesn't mean that Palko is a bad QB, but it does mean that the offense is going to have a very tough going unless Palko learns to get rid of that thing quick.

If the Panthers had better HBs, QBs, and WRs, but lost the Super Bowl because the OL wasn't that great, then they shouldn't have won the Super Bowl. The offensive line is an important part of the team, usually the one that gets none of the credit and all of the blame.

Pitt has been, and still is, plagued by POOR COACHING. That's not just a knock on Wannstedt, either. They need to clean house down there.

So if a team has 10 good players on offense and a BAD QB, it's the teams fault when they lose?

If those kids were that good that'd be able to run the ball. Pitt can't run the ball to compensate the bad receivers.
