Re: district 5
For AA Girls, I think that if a girl goes under 20:00, she’ll be in the top 25, which I don’t see happening for anyone from District 5, but from District 6, that would put Carly Seymour CC, Sarah Strayer FH, Annie Cekada CC, Shannon Yingling BM, and Sarah Hand CC in the running for medals.
And with three girls in the top 25, I think CC has a good shot at the team title, not to mention Carly Seymour as the individual champion if she can run to her potential. An 18:04 is a very good time, and in the past ten years, the fastest AA Girls’ winning time was an 18:04 by Lauren Shaffer from West Allegheny in 1999. From the little research I did on penntrackxc.com, I can only find one girl that will challenge her, and that’s Kacey Gibson from Neshannock; she won D7 with only a 19:12, but ran a huge 17:27 at the Big Red Invite on 09/10.
For AA Boys, I think that if a boy goes under 17:00, he’ll be in the top 25, which again I don’t see happening for anyone from District 5, but from District 6, that would put Travis Dean W, Shane Simmons CC, and Mitch Rosco BM in the running for some hardware.
For the individual AA Boys' champion, Jake Walker of Ellwood City has a great chance with a 15:19 from the Gettysburg Invite on 09/10 and a District 7 winning time of 15:48.
All in all, I think it’s going to be a fast meet, and I’m looking forward to seeing it.
